the sound is nice with the cat and wont be a problem to be pulled over, with the racepipe on and silencers out then you will be looking to be pulled over as the loudness is rediculous, silencers in with race pipe is quieter but i prefer the sound with cat on and no silencers, i dont really like the silencers in i think it makes the exhaust look cheap. the sound is really nice with cat when you start reving high =)

I was definitely thinking of just setting the racepipe aside and just throwing on the exhaust by itself. However, I've heard that the fitment of the TurboXS onto the stock cat is terrible; can anyone give any feedback on this?

+1 for feedback on this - I think I'm going to get one of these, but I'm concerned that it won't fit onto the stock cat - I don't plan to use the midpipe.

i am using the stock cat with no issue, i couldnt stand the sheer loudness inside the car from the race pipe. I still get a loud drone once the car is hot though.

i had a stuck bolt on my stock cat so i drilled out the holes so i might not count

Glad to hear that it fit properly. And yeah, the racepipe is pretty obnoxious. From what I've heard and read, the TurboXS with the stock cat sounds just like it does with the racepipe, just quieter.

Would like to hear from a couple of other users running on the TurboXS w/ stock cat just to be sure that I won't have any issues.

you will be fine so long as they send you the right gasket to fit with the stock cat, when i first ordered mine they didnt send me the correct gasket so i had to wait for them to ship me another one which took for ever because i believe it came from FL and i live in CA, after that no problem just the fume smell from the connection from the exhaust to the stock cat.

honestly if i were you i would go with something else, it sounds nice and all but fitment should be better, the fume smell is annoying, and i would like it if the tips were a bit bigger and stuck out a little further, someone asked me at a meet once if i had stock exhaust lol. and since they are not out very far some people have problems with the tips melting the shourds, i let my car warm up for a bit before i did my smog and you could smell the plastic shourds like they were burning thats just my opinion

I don't mind the smell, but the short tips/melting shrouds problem really bugged me at first. Then I realized that in October 09, they released a second-gen TurboXS that had longer slash-cut tips so that the melting shrouds issue was no longer a problem for future buyers. Are you using the first or second gen exhaust?

One reason why I'm going for this exhaust is because I'm a student with barely any money. Getting a great-sounding exhaust (as well as a racepipe) for only $500 is an awesome deal. My next choice would've been the Greddy SP2 but then I found out that they don't even make them anymore; instead they make some quieted-down "Elite SE" garbage that sounds nothing like the SP2.

The Exoticspeed was also another one that I was considering, but after a while, the gigantic tips started to turn me off from wanting it. I didn't really like the full-titanium either since I'd prefer shiny tips. Not to mention it costs a whopping $800...

oh wow just checked there website, thats cool they fixed there issues, too bad i cant get a free swap lol, i wouldnt spend another $500 for it, i dont plan to keep the car forever so ill just deal with what i got, i still wonder though on the fitment, i would like to know if they changed that as well so that the exhaust pipe size is the same diameter as the stock cat for a better more sealed fit for less chance of fume smell if they did that would be great for them of if they kept the diff size for the race pipe. they really should make an option. like select if you want to use with cat then you get same diameter or if u want race pipe then you get diff diameter. or just make it all the same size as the cat
