2 3/8'' ID for an exhaust? Not an optimal choice if in the pursuit of a performance gain on the car.

Wow another eBay special. $380 with free shipping. Go for it, just keep in mind you get what you pay for. I would agree 2 3/8" I/D is somewhat small. I'd go with something that has a larger pipe diameter if I was you.

That is BS in terms of exhausts. I have installed quite a few RX8 catbacks and I have seen $1,000.00+ exhausts that are no better than $500.00 exhausts. The Turbo XS is a good example. The mazdaspeed is also an example of an expensive exhaust that cracks at the welds.

Thats probably the reason why I didn't get the Mazdaspeed dual exhaust. Cuz if its not on Mazdaspeed Japan's list im not buying it

(Another reason why I sold my Mazdaspeed CAI, which is just AEM)

9krpmrx8 I was referring to the i/d of the piping in this instance. Sounds a little restrictive to me. Too each their own. I have always stuck to purchasing exhausts from reputable manufactures for all my cars but thats just me. I guess money just burns a hole in my pocket!

Yeah it's a pretty rare exhaust and I know of two who had the same issue. For example, Shinkamami's car is very low miles, garage kept, and lived in South Texas it's whole life and her MS catback rusted and leaked at the welds. The same thing happened to another local member and he ditched it for the Borla.

Yeah on this car though the piping diameter doesn't mean anything on a NA RX8. I saw no tangible power increase form my HKS single side.

^ You may be right but this exhaust is more restrictive than a stock exhaust!

How do you figure that? The only issue I see with it is that the mufflers themselves are probably not of good quality and may burn out quick but who knows, my HKS has gotten louder so I suspect the packing is deteriorating in that as well so just because it's name brand doesn't mean much to me for the most part on exhausts. But this does not look restrictive at all to me.

It just depends, this exhaust could look like **** and sound like **** in person but no one knows until they try it Many bashed the OBX as cheap crap when it came out yet everyone who has purchased it and ran it had nothing but good things to say about it

But at the end of the day, you buy what you like, I don't bash anyone who does what they want with their money. And in most situations, a better quality part will cost more and that is fine by me.

The stock exhaust diameter for the rx8 is 2 1/2". As was stated earlier this exhaust diameter is 2 3/8". What does that equate to? Who the hell knows! Most people seek to increase the diameter of their exhaust when upgrading not decrease it. Again I could care less what exhaust the guy gets. I didn't ask around when I was deciding what exhaust to go with. I did my research and got what I thought was the best exhaust for the money I had set aside. Op I wish you the best of luck if this is the exhaust you decide on. Make sure to post your opinion after you get it installed.

Purchased the exhaust today

Hey I just bought the TopSpeed Pro-1 exhaust for the 8. It usually goes for about 380 but I purchased it because I found it on eBay for 352 with free shipping brand new.
Haven't found anyone with this exhaust yet so I'm curious to how it's going to sound.

Put up a vid when you get it installed. I'm also curious of how it will sound.
