Did they adjust the clutch?
Because hard to shift also can be from a draging clutch.
Is there less free travel in the pedal? You should notice that because it will release higher up.

I think I need to adjust my pedal also. I don't have any grinding in any gears at any RPM from what I've noticed. But going from neutral into first I get a clunk sometimes, if you shift it kind of at an angle. If you push straight up into the gate, it seems to go in just fine.

Also, my clutch pedal does feel a tiny bit wobbly. Maybe 3mm or so of side to side movement? It's not a lot, and the clutch lets out all the time, but it doesn't feel solid like the brake and throttle do. Could it be broken or something? I tried to look at it last night, but I wasn't able to really check it out.

Also, to the OP, getting in a mod race with anybody just seems like a bad idea. If you don't read carefully, you could end up spending a lot of money on mods that don't do much.

Like you said, it comes pretty robust from the factory. Just do some handling mods if anything, and dominate him on the track! HAhahahah
