Mine shows a little low, but fairly consistent - it gets better when you tell it you filled up, and enter the amount of gas. It learns a factor to correct itself.

I'd rather like to match the stock orange / red lights instead of the green - it looks out of place.
Just a quick update regarding this issue: I called Linear Logic, and they sent me a new display unit. Hooked that up, and it works perfectly, colors included - so my original one was defective.
Linear Logic's customer service was great - they sent me the new unit without any hesitation, including a return shipping label for the broken one

Anyone found additional PID's we can use for RX8.

Thus codes to enter for XGAUGE function in Scangauge 2

Interesting Reading here ...

So what be cool if We can get some kind of Data typically in the format below so we can add additional gauges ....

Values to enter: (do not use=) TXD=0745224923, RXF=046285490623, RXD=3010
MTH=007D20000000, NAM=SOC. Don't forget to SAVE.

If somebody figures this out it would be awesome. If I could get trans temp and oil temp I'd be very happy. Would save me buying more gauges...

I think it comes down to the fact that the RX8 has no Oil or transmissoin temperature sensor therefore the relevant pid would return no data.

I'm sorta excited about this, i bought mine direct from them around the end of august but i don't have the new version. (now i have to send it back, doh~)

Things in this list http://www.autoenginuity.com/Mazda-Sensor-List.html or this http://www.autoenginuity.com/sensor_list.html we might be able to look up. (Obviously only for the sensors/systems that apply to the RX-8)

Auto Enginuity is/should be doing basically the same thing, it's just a matter of figuring out the codes. I'm hoping that they (AE/Mazda) don't do any weird compound messaging that the scangauge isn't capable of, which could be the case - i don't know enough about the standards used.

It will be interesting to see what new info we can pull out. Anyone with the AutoEnginuity+Mazda module care to comment what they can see on an RX-8?

I'll wait a week or two (too busy right now) and then send mine in for the upgrade; in the meantime I'll keep checking around to see what new codes pop up.

Hmm, that list mentions "engine oil temperature fault", but not just engine oil temperature. Wonder if that means you can just get a yes or no on whether the oil is too hot by mazda standards? I'm hoping to be able to get oil temp...

mdw1000

yeah I got the horsepower one going ... Nogal Cool ! (nogal = kinda)

TXD=00, RXF=4000800000000, RXD=0000
MTH=000A00170000, NAM=HPR. Don't forget to SAVE.

Are we(RX8) suppose to use the Ford CAN Gauges ...have not tried any ...so maybe some one else can confirm ....

But to be honest , can't see why I would need Fuel Pump Width , Duty Cycle etc etc ... hardly know what half of that mean anyway .... :-)

With,

If you could try a couple of the Ford CAN codes, that would be good info for the rest of us! And I'm sure there's a bunch more that might be more useful that haven't been released yet.

Do you happen to have an AT? If so, could you try the transmission fluid temp one? I would love to get that one, would save me from buying a gauge for it. If you don't, could you try a couple of the others to see if they work or not? Maybe two or three of the ones that would apply regardless of transmission type, like fuel level and barometric pressure?

Thanks!

By the way, I was shocked at how quickly they sent it back to me. It arrived at their shop in AZ on Wed, and it made it back here on Saturday. Must have flashed it and sent it back out the same day. Great service!

I would be curious to know how the car calcuates horsepower. According to the scangauge, I've hit 236 hp. I doubt I gained 39 hp from the Mazmart water pump and Mazdaspeed exhaust....

that would be crank HP, not WHP, so then isn't that right on target?

I have the 4-port 4AT. So my crank hp is supposed to be rated at 197.

Looks neat. It says they have a money back guarantee, so if you like it, and the measurements work out, give it a shot and let us know!

Only negative I see is it is a bit out of your line of sight. I have mine mounted on the dash to the left of the gauge cluster, behind the left side vent. Works well as I can just glance down quickly and see it.

Also keep in mind that you are going to have to route the cord to the OBDII port under the steering wheel.

Found out today from the dealer mechanic that there is no oil temp sensor, but the AT at least has a trans temp sensor. We were able to get that with their tools, but no oil temp.
