that VIN is for a normal 2004 RX-8. search doesn't turn up any anything different from anyone elses. it doesn't have any outstanding recall work to be done. so they have just added all the mazdaspeed parts they could lay their hands on. i.e. no power addies

you know, my MS kit front doesnt have that blacked out piece where the front license plate goes, mine came with the fitting for the japanese style plate, wonder if there are 2 different styles.

What a minute, it's there, see it? And the color does not match

in certain light it looks like the color doesnt match but in others it matches perfect, i chalk it up to the mettallics being on two different types of materials. I am sure it matches fine in person. this is an unfortunate draw back to the mettllic tri-coat paints.

I was told it is supercharged, but I don't really know what the differance between Turbo & SC is. All I know from looking at the engine, was that the intake box was gone. The weight was over 3,100; but he didn't know the final weight.
As far as the reason it was at my dealer, that is because it was being tested at Gingerman, it was just a lucky experience for me. They did tell me that it was runnging 1:30's times on the track, my buddie's Z with 330 bhp, full suspension, etc. runs high 1:30's to low 1:40's. My RX-8 ran high 1:50's.....

Vegas - from what I remember from an article (not sure if it was R&T or MotorTrend), the hydrogen 8 only makes about 100hp. A point of the article mentioned that the rotary engine can run on hydrogen with just a little modification - I think it was just to the fuel system. I'll try to chech the article when I get home.

Man oh man, I finally find my post that was moved (I don't know why); and there are like a hundred replies. Anyway, I am not going to post any pics of that car; because I am just not going to.
In regards to C&D testing the Ford Gt, Modena, and the GT3 at Gingerman; I was there when they did that (we are friends of the owners). I was also there when they were taking the Ford GT's offical pictures. I shot some pics off of the GT before anyone saw it, but didn't post any pics of that until I was told I could. My dad's employee races cars for a hobby, and is quite good at it. He raced the owners of Gingerman Raceway's comp. Viper at the track and got a time of 1:24. Gingerman is a little over 1.9 miles long and is mostly slaloms, and twisties. There is a point where you have 2 straights, but that is it.
That is why a heavy car totally has a disadvantage, ie: Ford GT, etc. The RX-8 MS ran 1:30's, which is right on track for being 3,100 lbs., 294 bhp, and 9,000 rpm. If my RX-8 runs 1:55's, and a 6-speed RX-8 runs 1:40's; then the time of that MS RX-8 (PROTOTYPE!) is reasonable. I have video of Gingerman last Saturday, where a 360 Modena was running 1:39; and my buddies Z wasn't to far behind (the guy in the 360 didn't know what the hell was going on.)
I am in the process of ordering a '05 RX-8. I was going to get a '04, but decided to just order one for the same price because I want white. I may see the ordering guide tommorow; I will post it when I get it. My car will be ordered by Friday; so it will for sure by posted this week.

In the top right, you can see my co-worker's Ford Explorer; that is one of the work trucks, and it is what we took out to Gingerman.
and here is my car the 1st I went to Gingerman with my 8 2 or 3 months ago
