RX-8 aftermarket exhausts SUMMARY
Thats pretty much it. I've heard a few mid pipes and the BHR was by far the cleanest sounding. It will probably be my next mid pipe as I put my factory cat back on after moving to WA.
It sure would and it would sound great. Just be aware you may still have a cell pop up every once in a great while though. Its hard to beat a stock cat.
I do not know if the BHR with a catalytic converter is as good as a stock cat.
There are people who say only the OEM cat will pass an emissions "sniffer" test.
If the CEL is your concern, it should be OK.
I like the sound of the BHR catless midpipe, plus the peace of mind knowing it won't clog & damage my engine.
That being said Charles (BHR) has done his research and uses quality components, As long as you give the car some time to warm up in the morning and everything else is in good working order you may never get a CEL.
Charles, will the BHR midpipe I have currently running with oem exhaust not fit a TXS cat-back? I was thinking of getting a used TXS exhaust but if it won't fit..
Im leaning pretty hard towards the Turbo XS exhaust and the Racing Beat midpipe... Does anyone have experience with this setup? Hows the volume/tone? And is the $276 RB midpipe on their website dual resonated?
I realize that the exhaust topic has been beaten to death, but I am going to post mine anyway. It's all used Racing Beat that I had converted to true three inch. I got the midpipe for $100 bucks because someone had cut the rear section off and welded some crap on it. I got the cat-back for $280 bucks from LKQ on ebay. I had a stainless shop change it to three inch, and they also added a section of pipe with the same flange to my factory converter for emissions time. Sorry it's so dirty, but it has been on for several months. I love the way it sounds, no rasp at all. It's a deep and smooth sound. It sounds a lot like my 2nd generation RX-7 turbo with a downpipe and Apexi N1 but quieter. It has a much better sound than stock but doesn't attract the cops.

Questions about cat back exhausts.
Hey all, I've got a 2004 Rx8 1.3L wankle engine with an AEM dryflow intake system on it. I'm looking for a good cat back system to increase power and change the sound.
Been looking into the BORLA touring exhaust and am wondering if that would cause any issues with the exhaust ports on the engine or overheating, plus are there any mods I'd need to make with the fuel management system or ECU once the system is installed?
Any other tips would help, thanks!

Hello all i am also new at the forum as you all can see . Tried to search it but wont be able to find it. So here is my question about the exhaust systems .
Singe or Dual ? Single ones are almost 10-15 kg less weight i guess and probably "may" give more hp than the dual ones ... But they will be a lot louder. Any advice ?
