I've had two different supercats, the round bonez with heat sheild, and now the new one with the oval cat and hanger. I think the older one was just a little bit louder and more raspy. I got the cel for cat at least once and RP swapped it out for free.
I recommend the supercat to anyone, especially considering the customer service at RP. The 5hp was a little under my expectations though.

Thanks for sharing the dyno charts! I had always figured the results would be in the 6-8 whp range so 5.4 isn't too far off what I expected.
I have around 8000 miles on mine now, and it has definitely gotten louder over the past 2000 miles. I just got back from a cool evening drive and it sounded great, even on the stock catback. I have heard others comment that the RB cat-back sounds great with the RP, so thanks for confirming.

i've had one for about 7k miles. It's got a cel that comes and goes, but never any power loss, so I'm not too worried about it. What I like most about it is on a cold day, when you first start the car and blip the throttle to about 3k, it sounds AMAZING. But still sounds good once it warms up, but that first rev sounds like an F1 scream.

wait a sec, so is this to say that with the change in say Exhaust, i might end up with negative performance ? in which case the AP might be a necessity...
or does this only apply to the cat itself..

Installed the RP supercat and it sounds and feels great. If for some reason my RP supercat fails does that mean that I just get a cel or does it actually hinder performance?

although the gains do fall into place, the results still aren't a perfect barometer. Done on different days, too many factors to have a 100% consistent. Power could have gone up or down a few % either day based on conditions of those days.

^ yeah I had that too, but mostly right around 2900 rpm or so-really annoying. Got it spot welded and that helped for a while, but when RP sent me the new one due to CEL and I took the old one off at least two of the welds had completely broken again. My only real complaint about the supercat. good luck.
BTW, after having the newest version on for about 1000-1500 mi., I can confirm that this new version is MUCH less raspy, especially when cold.
