Ressting ECU. Yes? No?

I just got the Racing Beat intake and duct.

But, wondering do I have to reset the ECU with RB intake?

Should I or is it just optional?

If I should, how do I reset the ECU?

hold the odo reset button in while turning the key to ON. you should see TEST on your dash. Turn your car off and repeat the process once more.

Now turn your car on, hit the brake pedel 20x really fast, you should see the oil gauge sweep.

That's it.

PS: key to on = don't start the engine

and you can't hurt anything by doing the reset. So do it if you want.

sorry...

1) what is the odo button? and where is it?

2) first position is key on, second position is accessory, third position is cranking
you mean first position?

3) hold odo button and put the key on position and turn off- 2 times ?

4) start engine and hit the brake pedal 20 times?

Right? sorry....I want to make sure cuz it is my first time doing it.

Thanks.

ACC is what I described as on.

odo is the reset button, it's black, and inside the right round gauge area. If you do a search on ECU reset you'll find detailed threads about it.

All the resets are done without starting the car, just turn it to ACC.

Yes. I found and read it, but not clear to me.

There are two kinds of setting. One is called NVRAM and another one is KAM

And those have different setting method.

KVRAM- hold odo button and key on - Do it 2 times

KAM - key on and brake pedal 20 times

Both are same thing? which one should I take?

what about alram or radio? Does alram or radio work like before reset it?

Or Should I reet the alram and radio too?

I am really confused.

Just do both.

Neither will mess up your radio presets.

fix what? You just do the reset and you're good to go.

I meant...Do I have to put some code in CD player to work it?

Or after I reset the ECU, is everything. such as audio. going to work same as before resetting it?

cuz I heard resetting ecu will erase every memories the car has; which means I have to reset everyting, audio or alram.

I already told you both of those resets will not change anything like your radio presets.

Just do it, nothing will change that you'll care about. You will lose nothing.

arrrg.

do what is in the notes.... Plus dissconnect the bat cable... and tap the break pedal while the bat is dissconnected...

you will lose your radio presets.. and nothing else.... if you are worried about the presets dont do anything and stop posting...
