Did they force air through the REVi to emulate wind at road speeds? Any mention of MPG improvement?

try searching "revi mpg" (in this same thread even) and you might also try googling what it takes to generate 60 mph flow over thr front of a configured car, which is the only way to get an accurate measurement, I doubt they rented a wind tunnel just to make such a test

but fwiw, I didn't mean it as ridicule against you personally, just that it's only the 50th time I've seen someone ask the same mpg question ... thank you for asking rather than flying off the handle with a wayward assumption, not very common around here and worthy of respect

It may provide it a bit cooler air, for whatever that does, but improve performance of the engine? ...not likely by enough to measure...the k&n is not a true sealed box like the REVi... amd even if it was...well read the previous post a few above. Improvements are REALLY hard to come by.

No they did not rent a wind tunnel for the test.

Though a wind tunnel would increase the effectiveness of the REVi you might only see another 3-4hp gain bringing the grand total to 10hp gain.

So far my total conclusion even if I am a total novice is that from what I have gleaned from my research, reading etc. is that the Mazda engineers did an exceptional job on the car.

Maybe a few lighter components, less airbags (even though they keep the insurance rates down). I personally would like to see a CF driveshaft for starters. Not that would be cheap but I think it would help decrease the hp loss between the flywheel and rear wheels.

Of course you could always go the route of the Turbo and Inter Cooler and fuel management system... CHA CHING! Not to mention a huge decrease in mpg which I know most of us are trying to avoid.

It's all a matter of personal opinion I think. To each their own and everyone love their ride in their own way.

Peace, Love and Wankel!
