Post RB Ram Air Intake Duct RELEASED

UPDATE:
http://www.racingbeat.com/resultset...artNumber=18298

From RB Website:
Ram Air Intake - We are currently developing a Ram Air Intake Duct for use with the REVi (and most other aftermarket) intake system. This duct will collect air from the nose opening and feed it directly into the intake mouth. Update 5/05: We have released several kits for pre-release testing. If all goes as planned, we anticipate having these units available around 7/18. Pre-order information will be posted on 7/13.

I wonder who's testing it... must be someone in the site..

SAVING MONEY TO BUY IT!!!

RX8store sells the REVi for $289 shipped. That's the best price around so far.

Regarding the ram air duct: I got an email yesterday from Jim Langer that confirms what was said above, namely that development is done and the duct is being tested right now, so far with positive results. He said Jim Mederer has to give OK and then they'll be offering it in a short while. No pricing information is available yet.
They are waiting for some brackets tro arrive, then it'll be available. He did not mention any specific date (like 7/18) though.
I'm hoping this won't take very long as I want to install it together with my (soon-to-arrive) REVi.

I used the Racing Beat duct for my FD--coupled with a K&N intake it was a nice improvement.

So... it's a Cold-ram-air-duct-thingamagie? Whatever it is, I hope it brings more than what the REVi already does (reputedly).

Hope it is compatible with the mazdaspeed front end. That is.. it isn't visible and looking like crap. If it is a scoop that is discrete then cool.

It looks nothing like those. The small open area from the lower part of the "dummy" grille on the front of the car is where it gets it's air from. It takes up this entire area which isn't that much anyways. This is a wide but fairly flat shape that tapers into the area of the inlet. The main inlet itself is actually several small ones as they are equipped with dividers, both for strength and airflow straightening. You can't even see it from the front of the car as unlike Odula's, it doesn't hang down into view in the lower grille area. It's a stealth piece.

I have the revi and love it, but i would like more power. What kinds of gains (if any) can be expected from the ram air intake duct?
