I've had the MS intake on for three summers now and never had a problem with sucking up water. I do have the sock on it and it's only summer driver but I have been through some serious storms and touchless washes.
No noticeable power gain but The sound was worth the money.

hahaha yea chances are on a hot day ill pull 216. I might pick up BHR's prototype header/midpipe and sell my 3 midpipes. That with a few other things I should pick up those extra ponies I was looking for.

Amazon.com got one for $285 and free shipping which is a steal

I don't know about you but $150 is a nice amount of money to save on something you get almost no gain on.

I don't see how, I'm pretty sure we highlighted the uselessness of intake systems in this car. Or at least I did, but what do I know I'm just a backyard mechanic.

hey everyone. It's been a little over a year since i made this thread seeking info and i just stumbled upon it again haha. Just want to say thank you for all of your help. It really was informative for me. Also as an update, 3 days ago i ordered my red AEM intake for 42% off on amazon which to me is one hell of a deal. It took awhile but i finally pulled the trigger! i've also finally found a really good tuning shop here in Omaha nebraska and im excited to have a new tune with my BHR ignition, AEM intake and Racing Beat exhaust. Not sure how much i'll really see in gains but i figured I'd update everyone who probly doesnt give a hoot anyways haha thanks again!!

Yeah once K&N bought AEM the quality went to **** (ask Charles @ BHR). I bought a Blue AEM to hack up for my turbo kit and I was blown away at how shitty it was compared to my friends older AEM. Mine had over spray that was chipping on the inside (not good for the engine I would imagine) and it was bubbling in places on the outside. The tubing was different as well, the newer version used a slightly thinner piping.

I got my Rb intake used for $100. My wife's car has a MS intake which I also got used for $150. So 2 intakes for $250< $300 for new AEM which now has low quality...

Also just so everyone remembers, aftermarket intakes do not do anything for our cars.

Yeah I used aircraft paint stripper and stripped it all off. What was funny was that I stripped all the piping except the lower section and the MAF pipe was polished underneath while the rest of the piping was just unfinished pipe under neath. It was weird.

The only difference between MS and AEM is quality inspection I guess...
Have the rain sock on mine, and never have issue during rain or car wash (vented hood w/o water duct)....again, it's socal here, so no freezing crap. lol

I live in Vancouver, we literally get 10mm of rain 4-6 days a week for 7 months of the year, and I have had zero problems with my MS intake with the sock on.
