Pulley pulleys pulleys!
yes changing the pulley can cause a cel. i found out the other day. you need to clear the crank profile from memory then its all good. the oem computer is capable of noticing that 1000ths of a inch movement of the sensor ring.

2 nd gear is dependent upon your gear ratio. The gears are set to max 68 in 2nd. Physicall impossible to get more out of the gear. I think your seeing a speedo error.
What your saying is that I can put in a SC and get 80 out of 2nd gear.
Increased RPM or HP is not going to increase how fast you can go a gear.
But then again if your gear is in a tolerance range and it had the potential to do low 70's you should have seen that by just holding down the throttle and winding it out. It would have only taken longer without the RB flash.

Yes an increas in RPM WILL increase the speed limit of a gear.

^^^ Ditto, If it didnt then stepping on the gas to make the engine go faster wouldnt mean jack. HP doesnt make a diff unless the motor cant over come the resistance to reach its rev limit.
I have brand new unorthodox pulleys for sale here: https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?t=110664
sorry if htis has been covered allready............i`ve heard that doing the steps to reset the computer will clear the cel light with the AP pulley...... so is it safe to asume that that will work for all the pulleys listed? from what i`ve read i`ve only seen this done with the AP one.......Is this because the others dont trip the cel?......or is it simple the only pulley this trick works on?

The 20 brake tap after turning the ignition to the run position resets the eccentric shaft position sensor so the ECU calibrates its position.
An ECU reset can be done by pulling the Room fuse in the driver's kick panel for about a minute.
It is tight quarters down there and if person installs the AP pulley it seems even tighter.
Tapping on the brake 20 times after turning the key to the run position is not that hard to do. If a person loses track of how many times they tapped just keep tapping till the oil pressure guage does a sweep.

any weight you can save that is rotating mass is by far more improtant then spinning mass.
like in the case of my race wheels. if you were to remove almost 40 pounds off of the car it would make a small differance, but nothing you would even feel. I removed 40 pounds of spinning mass when I put my race wheelas and tires on. now THAT makes a big differance.
same goes for flywheels, driveshafts, pulleys.... ect.
now, if you not racing, and you dont NEED that extra power..... no its not worth it. your butt dyno will not know the differance with such a small ammount. save the money. put that money in a more noticable mod.

Cheers speed,
I was thinking if they are cheap enough it might be worthwhile (at least I would have matching silver pulleys then...)
Ebay Alternator Pulley
What you reckon?

I still say go for it... seems kinda expensive, but if you got nothing better to do then might as well.
If I didn't have the Unorthodox SS pulleys I probably would gone that route. He sells aluminum caps for oil, washer fluid, brake fluid, and coolant as well. Which was the first things I replaced when I got my car. Not a fan of the yellow plastic engine caps.
