Question Problem with my GReddy?

So I finally picked up the GReddy SP2 system and had it installed yesterday. I was worried that it would be too loud, since that is what everyone has been saying. I'm not sure if there is a problem with mine or not because I can barely hear it. Even at WOT it doesn't sound all that loud. Could I possibly have a lemon?

Thanks

I doubt it. I think when everybody talks about the after-market exhausts being too loud, we are all worried about it sounding really ricey or too loud. I don't think any of the major ones do. I was worried about the same thing when I bought my GReddy.

It isn't too loud. As you excellerate (especially after about 6K), you will really notice it. Under that is just a nice subtle roar.

A SP2 @ WOT is far from quite, either there is something wrong with your catalytic converter or your hearing needs to be checked (no offence). I have had my Greddy SP2 since October and under 4,000 rpm it’s slightly louder than stock. But over that or WOT it is loud in a good way.

Don't get me wrong, I can hear it. I actually love the way it sounds. I guess I was just expecting to hear an obnoxiously loud exhaust system.

Nothing to worry about. I bought mine for the tips, and heard it would be obnoxiously loud (which I didn't want). Bought it anyway, and it turned out not to be too loud at all, so it worked out great for me.
You were just expecting something different, that's all.

A friend of mine said that it would get louder upon break in as well. I'm just glad its not as loud as everyone was describing. I'm sure it will get a bit louder when I throw on the RP Midpipe. Does anyone have a sound clip of the greddy witht he RP midpipe?

I have one with the RP high-flow cat and the thing roars. My friend has an 8 with just the Greddy SP2 on and stock pipe and his is non-existance compared to mine, VERY big difference.

I also think your exhaust note will get louder as it get more broken in. I have a Greddy exhaust for my Honda Accord and it gave a really nice grumble in the beginning. It's been about 5 years or so since it was installed and I find it extremely loud now, even at idle. I checked and there are no holes etc throughout the exhaust system.

I'll have to wait then. The car isnt my daily driver so i've only driven it 50 miles or less since the install.
