Plugs and Wires

Maybe this is an old question, but I haven't seen a thread on it.

Are there any spark plugs or plug wires that are made for the RX-8 that will improve performance? And if so, are they worth the investment?

I have the Racing Beat wires. There are no claims from them about added hp, just larger wires, with better material to handle continued high performance (race track) and heat that comes with that. There have been a few people with the Nology wires. They summarily melted their spark plugs. The notion of increased hp, or massive increase in spark should be taken with a grain of salt.

I'm more interested in high performance coils.

My experience has been increased HP with high out put coils.

With good performance coils you can force any amount of air and fuel into the engine.
It will just burn it super clean. The trick is not to run to lean, but then agin you have to have super output from the coils. I'm talking about 2 to 3 x and even more out put.

uhhh... right.

Haus, try hittin' the search button first next time, but since you started this thread scroll all the way to the bottom of hte page and check out hte ones that're chillin' there.

i don't know in how many topics i'll have to repeat this, but looking to pick up power by increasing the efficiency of an already efficient system is pretty stupid, in my opinion. if you're looking for real performance, what you need to do is increase the potential the system has to make power and refine that to a higher level. plugs (which are iridium stock, just in case you care) and wires, and even magical coils won't get you any appreciable amount of power out of this motor.
