Plan of attack

Ok I am picking my new RX8 in the next few days and I plan to mod it. I have been reading around the forums a lot so I know a couple of things of what people have done. I plan to track the car once in a while like I did with my previous car.

I think the first mod I want to do is an exhaust and for what I have read around is that the turboxs is the best because it gives the best gains, sounds good and is cheap. (unless I read wrong)

If this is not the case I would like to hear from people here that have exhausts on their cars and could recommend one to me. I wnant something that sounds good and is full exhaust even if it has to be a combination of a test pipe from one company and an exhaust form another and also I would like for it to have good gains and if it works with a turbo even better because I do plan to turbo this car in about a year that is why I dont plan to buy an intake.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Well, theres like 1000000 exhaust threads... Im pretty sure that on an N/A rx8, an exhaust/intake really isnt going to do much except make it louder. Nominal gains here and there but nothing really spectacular. I personally would save your money on an intake and just do the screen mod in the DIY section. Search man search.

Yeah I know search search hehe

I have searched and read but the exhaust that I have read the most about its the truboxs. I just am a bit scared that people say its too short in the back and some say its kind of low so it may scrape going over speed bumps. So that's why im not sure about it yet. I am leaning towards it but not sure.

I am not getting an intake im saving up for the turbo. I just want to get an exhaust so it will hold me over until I get the turbo jeje. I just need to hear my car make noise haha.

Also id like the exhaust to work when I make it turbo.

Also since I am planning on going full exhaust is there a way of not getting a CEL by using defoulers or angled defoulers?

if your going full, just get the http://www.mazsport.net/store/index....ct_detail&p=45

Has 2 o2 sensor bungs, one for stock and one that you can plug for later use with the AEM EUGO or whatever you choose if you went turbo like you said, AND it wont be ridiculously loud either.

Any "full exhaust" will be loud.

The cat and resonator cut the crackle quite a bit - a midpipe make any aftermarket system loud enough to attract 'attention'.

If you want 'real loud', use the K&N V1 intake......

I would say if you want sound and a power increase, try the RP Supercat or Mazsport's midpipe first with the stock exhaust. They will actually give you some gains. Power gains from an cat-back exhaust are very minimal on this car.

I have the RP Supercat and don't get a CEL. I don't know about the Mazsport midpipe. I would imagine you would get a CEL with any midpipe, but I'm not sure.
