A-Pillar gauge pod??

Does anyone make an a pillar gauge pod for the RX8????

I would put them on the dash in the middle where alot of ppl put them but i have a dvd player and lcd screen there.

Also i think the gauges look the best on the a pillar.

i think there are several A pillar gauge pods available...somewhat universal types...but you will be disabling your air bag....

why not try the RB gauge pod...
thats the route im taking...

It doesn't affect the A pillar.

Why wouldn't the Knightsports pod fit on either side?

The stock dash is symmetric... or is it because of where the wires feed into the dash?

What I mean is, wouldn't it fit on the left hand side of the stock gauges?

I believe they are Defi gauges. The reason they match so well is our stock gauges were designed / made by Defi if I remember correctly.

those are Defi BF 60mm gauges- $250 a pop

OBX makes a 3 gauge A-pillar gauge pod for $50, but it's black and not tan, so you might want to invest a little and paint it. Linky: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/OBX-T...spagenameZWDVW
just search Ebay............Ebay is your friend

4 year to Supercharge: I don't think there would be enough room to mount the Knightsport pod on the left side of the insturment cluster. It's hard to tell from the pics but I don't think there is enough room, and you would block that defroster vent and such, and even possible hit the door? It's hard to tell without dimensions or seeing it in real life. Plus it's like $300 w/out gauges!!

I like the Autometer Nexus gauges: http://www.autometer.com/demos/nexus/

Color changes to all red for the display to get the driver's attention if something is wrong.

These also match up with the stock gauges.

Chickenwafer that is a good point about the room on the left side of the cluster. It looks like the knightsports pod might be made of CF.

Autometer Nexus gauges are hot. But over $850 for the gauges and the controller....no thanks.
I like the ProSport Peak/Warning series of gauges. They're inexpensive, and don't require a controller. They are white during the day and then turn red at night and look a like like stock gauges, and they flash amber and BUZZ when they reach your programmed pre-set limit. Only $255 for all three gauges including wiring, sender units, hardware, and shipping!

I am thinking that the best thing to do is either get the A-pillar or maybe take the idea from knightsport and have a fabricator in local shop maybe remake them for the LHD.

JUST A THOUGHT maybe in the fall

That might be expensive. Check out the Lotek gauge pod- here's the thread: https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-interior-audio-electronics-24/lotek-gauge-pod-110937/ only $60 bucks!

I liked adrain-1's setup on the A-Pillar. You can see it here:
https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...t=gauge+pillar

It still has the factory texture and color, and the gauge is nicely mounted. I be you can do the same with 2 or 3 gauges.

The Prosport look awesome! I saw them firsthand at their booth at a show in Orlando. They are super-slick and be wired to change color when you're headlights turn on (I have to manually switch my Nexus between white and red).

ya a guy in the Lotek gauge pod thread is putting in those ProSport gauges (as I am I but he already has them). There is a seperate wire you splice into a control for your parking lights so when your parking and/or headlights are on the gauges turn to red- just like the factory gauges. Super slick, inexpensive, and high-qualitly! How do you beat that?
