Well, it is exactly what I thought - LTFT was at 7% today! This is not good, so time to reset and start tuning next week. I'm getting my CZ back from dannobre on Sat. :p

Has anyone else logged their LTFT with the REVi other than me?

Oops, the one above says 0%

When I logged this morning at idle, it read 7%. Then I drove for about 15 minutes and logged 0%. Now I am confused.... Last night I was flashed to "N", so maybe driving awhile it leaned itself out.

So you think the ECU learned the REVi and dumped more gas to compensate?

I just got my canscan back this morning. At lunch, I'm going out to the car and take a LTFT reading. I've had the REVi on for 2 weeks now. should be interesting....

I'm not sure what happened. Maybe the N flash is running leaner.

Since I am a neanderthal when it comes to the PCM portion of mods all I can offer the conversation is this much; after getting the N flash I seem to have a lean condition above 7K rpms in first gear, 5K in second and third gears, and I have yet to hammer the car in fourth and above gears. I thought my MAF sensor was bad, checked it, and it works fine. The O2 sensors both fall within electrical specs as well. With 38K mile spark plugs were likely. I replaced them today and am crossing my fingers as I have yet to drive the car. The strange thing is that the old plugs indicated a proper to slightly rich A/F condition.

All of those problems I had with the nitrous have now subsided since I did the NVRAM-clearing procedure as outlined by MM, except when in the rpm ranges mentioned above. I also no longer have the boost in power that I used to feel when I hit 6K and above whether with the M or N flashes.

Has anyone else experienced this and are there any ideas regarding it?

that is personally my fear as to why Polak got a ~10hp increase on the dyno right after installing it and Racing Beat only advertises a 2-3hp gain.

okay. I just got back from some CanScan logs. My LTFT was 1.8 when I first started. then went to 3.1 when I was warm. When i did a couple of WOT take-offs, it went to 3.9. How Long Term is that?!

Just had the Canzoomer and mid-pipe installed - the REVi intake was done a couple of weeks ago. I am in Edmonton visiting family, so I had Maurice do the install - great guy, and knows what he is doing. I have not had much of a chance to play with it... but it is definately stronger. So far I am very happy with the performance.

What map are you starting with?

Just got back home from a 500 mile road trip in the 8 - met up with dannobre, zoom44, kari, icemastr, among others at the Northwest Rotor Rally. Dan handed me back my CZ, so I'll be joing you this week.

Maurice (Canzoomer) did the tuning for me - I really don't know what he started with, but I sure am impressed with what he ended with. He does know what he is doing. The tuning really didn't take all that long.

I will when I get back from my vacation. At the moment I don't have the software loaded onto my laptop. Should be home by the end of the week. You will be interested in looking around 6500 rpm (or so, can't remember for sure). With the N flash he noticed a couple of differences from M - one of which was a lean spot. Apparently this was the first time he has played with the N flash.

Thanks

Maybe we should start a Pacific NorthWest Coast 1950's club. I know of two members that could join up right away.

Yes, there is a lean spot there. Here is my graph from this morning without the CZ installed. It is going in tonight. Lean at 6046 & 6373.

Hey Dan, are you reading this? Does your car have the "N" flash?

No, that is after the REVi was installed. Here they both are again:

Pre-REVi "M" Flash and Post-REVi "N" Flash

I can't even get two AFR logs to look that similar WITHOUT a mod inbetween! I'm jealous of the consistency. In fact, the lack of consistency in the results is really frustraing. But, no one else seems to complain about it.

Yeah, it's weird isn't it? I had an intake mod and a PCM flash - and they still look pretty close. Tonight will be fun though... CZ time again

I still want to see how much power someone puts down with it tuned to a flat 13:1 afr. Good luck on doing that though. I personally would also like to see timing backed down slightly to full advance of 26 degrees. This is just me though.

Fred, when I get this beast tuned, I am going to dyno the results. I'll most likely start a new thread when that day comes, or just add it here. It might take me a couple of days to get it right. The only mod missing from my equation are a set of ______ers.
