Pettit Racing Product Survey!
Hey all!
As you probably know, we are very close to releasing our twin screw supercharger for the RX-8 after years of development and testing. However, I don't want the modifications for the RX-8 to stop there
I'm starting a survey, to get an idea of what products YOU want the most, so after the supercharger is released, we can aim our product development towards what YOU as RX-8 owners will use!!
Now, I own an RX-8, and after observing how many amazing products we have for the RX-7, I can't imagine the RX-8 not following suit. It truly is an EXCELLENT car.
Now, sure a true 3" catback system, coilovers, or sway bars would be great...but it doesn't have to be something performance oriented! Gauge pods, hoods, and other small interior or exterior upgrades are also fair game!
Check out our site www.pettitracing.com, and go to the RX-7 section to get some ideas!
I REALLY appreciate any feedback given, and hope you guys have some good ideas
Thanks so much.
-Bryan

As of now... staying in-line with the blower; some things do come to mind.
*Pettit Deep Oil Pan - (Like Greddy)
*Pettit Oil Cooler Catch Can - (Like Greddy)
*Pettit "A" Pillar Double & Triple Pod Mount (CF & Piano Black)
*Pettit Center Dash (Nav Loc) Triple Pod Mount (CF & Piano Black)
*Pettit FAI ["forced air inlet" opening] DIY Kit – with a rotary shaped bezel. - (Like Acosta's Front Bumper)

Go Texas Longhorns!
Better engine mounts would be nice, ones that would better smooth the idle.
light weight power plant frame
Upgraded ignition coils (we really need these)
3rd Oil Cooler Kit

I like Brillo's list very much, especially the ignition coils.
How about:
Transmission Upgrade - use our stock tranny but replace some of the internals to take more abuse
Fuel Tank Upgrade - to avoid fuel starvation for those of us that track our cars

I forgot to say thanks Bindon. Tell everyone over at Pettit that we appreciate all of your hard work, your thoroughness in order to create good products, and your understanding of what people want in the real world. That's why you guys are good at what you do.

I like the bumper but it would be alot hotter if it was centered.

The main reason its offset is to have the straightest path possible through the filter and into the throttle body. Having it centered would require bends, and reduce its power potential.

How about solid mount seat brakets for the stock seats. Which would lower the seat so us tall guys can fit in the car "comfortably" with a helmet on.
hmmm....

better final gear setups (not really sure what's all involved in that though so sorry if that's a stupid request)
various heat management/efficiency products (oil coolers, radiators, catch cans, etc.)
lighter drive shaft (what's the stock one made out of anyway???)
thanks bindon.

The stock one is Carbon Fibre...so not much improvement there :-D
Currently we have a newly released "Cool Power" thermal management system for the FD's, and we are developing one for the RX-8's, Specifically ones with GReddy turbos. It makes a HUGE difference.

What I'd like to see for a SC addition is gauge pods that can work with those of us that have navi's. Most of the ones I've seen sit in the navi area, which isn't going to work for me.

SOMETHING I FORGOT TO MENTION
Here at pettit racing we have developed a DRY SUMP OIL LUBRICATION SYSTEM for the RX-8.
Please note that this dry sump modification is ONLY for serious track dedicated cars, and not for road cars! It requires a seperate oil tank, and engine block modifications which makes it a huge undertaking.
All in all, its a VERY sweet modification if you have a track ready RX-8
