Oil Pressure through OBDII ?

Hey Guys,

I just installed a Carputer and had teh OBDII working. I was wondering if there is any value that the OBDII can display, that can give me info on the oil pressure/if I need to top off some oil.. Anyone familiar with this?

Thanks!

No, sadly the OBD II interface doesn't have any reporting for oil pressure. There is a pressure sending unit for your pressure gauge on the dash but it simply reads whether or not there is pressure at all. Anything above 5psi is considered normal according to the gauge.

The only way you can get pressure information is to wire in a direct gauge.

Oh alright. Thanks for the quick reply! I really appreciate your help! Sucks that the guage on the car doesnt work.. Pretty ironic I think.. Since the ONE car you would need that gauge in the most, just simply doesnt have a functional one..
