And the OBX headers are the same design as RE-AMEMIYA

Yes I'll agree there a cheap knock off, welcome to reality. But OBX is cheap enough to let you question RE-AMEMIYA if any gains exist. Your asking me if I can "feel" a difference??? Well duh, have you seen the stock header design?
If you look at the OBX and RE-Amemiya ones, the sensor is located at different locations. I believe the OBX one WILL NOT give your car a correct reading because the sensor is actually above the joint pipings as oppose to the RE-Amemiya ones that are on the jointed piping.

This is the RE-Amemiya one. Notice the hole for the sensor bung?

This is the OBX one. Now, notice how the hole is further up after where the piping splits. This will give an incorrect reading.

no but on other cars yeah, there quality is not bad for the price. i'd rather spend $250 a header than $1000+ that looks identical.

Like I said before, they are not identical. The OBX will not give you an accurate reading because of where the sensor is located as oppose to the RE-Amemiya one. Inaccurate readings might hinder performance and make it worse. Read post #26.

in both the OBX and RE header, the rear rotor AFR is being measured (and since that seems to be the rotor more prone to misfires, probably not a bad idea...)

Why does the OBX header incorporate the Air Injection Pump if the gasket doesn't have the holes for it? Where is the air supposed to go? Do people have to cut the holes themselves?

There is no hole on the OBX

I don't think cheap has to make sense...

And when I mean no hole, I mean remove the air pump all that other emissions crap!

I have the OBX headers installed, not much of a noticeable HP increase but its there for sure, sound maybe a little louder, but when you floor it you can hear the exhaust leaving the engine. overall for 200+48 install charge i'm not complaining.

Hallo...
I'm a new member from Greece and I apologise for my bad English...
I got the OBX headers...
I payed 215 euro instead of 1200 euro for the re-amemiya header... Make the convertion to USD and you will see...
The sound changed after the 6K rpm's... (Ah, I got the standard power RX8 192ps with 5MT)
Well before installing the OBX and UNORTHODOX pulleys my runs with G-Tech were 7,0sec for 0-100kmh and 15,1sec for 0-400m
After installing the above parts I made a few runs (G-Tech runs) with the same weather conditions same road....
6,6sec for 0-100kmh and and 14,8 for 0-400m I guess that these times didn't achieved just bacause of the pulleys...
I didn't tell you the best part...
I uninstalled the catalysator...
My exhaust now is aparted of OBX header, 70mm free pipe and a catback made of ebay univarsal catbacks (100euro cost....!!!!) from my local exhaust mechanic...
The sound.... From another planet......
Gains....:
6,3sec for 0-100kmh and 14,5sec for 0-400m
I also achieved 5,8sec and 6,0sec for the first 0-100kmh but never reached the 400m... I couldn't shift to 3d gear....
All the runs are measured with G-Tech.....
AEM intake...
Guys don't spend your money....
Thank you
