Does anyone know the general location of the o2 sensor. Is it a one, two or three wire sensor? Hooking up an air/fuel and have misplaced my shop cd

There are two O2 sensors, one near the manifold and another near the cat. I believe it's a multiple wire sensor, but don't quote me on that.

Location

There Are Two Sensors, The Front One Is Located On Top Of The Manifold ( Header ) Which Is Extremely Hard To Loose Or To Get To, The Other One Is In The Cat - This One Is Easily Accesible By Just Lifting The Car.

The OEM WB is a current based sensor..you can't attach a normal voltage based sensor and expect to get any meaningful #'s.

When you say "melted" what do you mean? The oem O2 sensor can only be purchased (new) from a Mazda spares dealer, i.e. Rosenthal Mazda etc etc, I suggest you check around for the best price. I purchased from the USA (with the help of a forum member) a replacement front O2 sensor for less than $190 + shipping, which is a fraction of the cost over here in Ireland/Europe.

NB. Front and rear O2 sensors are 4 wire type, also they are not interchangeable, i.e. cannot swap between front and rear sensors.
