the only reason i even let them flash it(racing beats flash "for sale" is built on the S while the Beta one in my car was built on R) was because i knew the recall was coming and i want them to be able to document in the mazda system and elsewhere that i had all the recall work done. if i didnt let them flash that wouldnt be possible.

So they do custom flashes??

As I've said before, in about three months I'm sending them my European ECU to play with it, I hope I don't have to send my motor from here hehe.

Hmmm - will RB update their flash to account for the MOP profile changes in the upcoming "T" flash?

kevin that was what the delay in retailing was all about making sure they were on the recall flash. they waited until they could get their hands on it. the RB flash will be built on the recall flash. as ive said several times- i was just jumping the gun on which flash that was.

toxing if you havent seen any of the news about a recall take a look in the "recall" thread where i have posted the bulletins or look in media news for the 80 page thread

Just got off the phone with RB. The rep. I spoke with thought that "R" was still the latest flash (strange, but he generally seemed pretty knowledgable). He did say that RB would flash WITH the most current Mazda flash??

I am strongly considering the RB flash, but fear that flashes will not end anytime soon, and would then have to get RB reflash their software. Is this a realistic concern?

not gonna work without some input from mazda, they seem to have a different software key than US versions

I don't think RB's process of adding a board to the ECU requires them to know the key.

Wouldn't it be better to wait for the recall work to be done on your car?

I don't know how they do all the testing, but isn't there a chance that they might re-flash even if it looks like the car has the latest flash?

I fix computers, and sometimes when things don't work as expected, I re-install drivers even though they are already installed.

Is there a chance the dealer would do that? It doesn't seem like re-flashing the ECU is too hard for them.

Gotta wait until the recall is done or you'll waste your $300.

Not sure about '05 or '06. Jim said the '04 was going to be out in two weeks. You should call them to confirm like I did.

Once a person switches over to the Evans it should last them a long time is what I have heard. Is that the main benefit?

What is the recommended drain and fill with the Evans?
