New Resonator Option On SR Motorsports Hi-Flow Cat Unit
I just ordered some parts from SR Motorsports today. I was looking around for a Hi-Flow Cat unit and I was debating between the SR Motorsports & Can Zoomer unit. I was leaning towards the CZ unit at first because it included a resonator to cut back on sound. I already have the Racing Beat cat back and I didn't want it to be too loud. But in looking on the SR Motorsports website they now have an option to add a resonator onto their unit for an extra $59. I ordered it today along with the pullies & also I bought a SR Motorsports aluminum flywheel this past weekend. Also, I was hearing the CZ is backordered. Should be fun. I will let everyone know how it goes.

A lot of people, including myself, have the SR Motorsports fly so there are a lot of threads with happy customers. There is only one thread about the Racing Beat fly so it is not as "seasoned" as the SR one is....

Please let us know how it works out.
I have the same exhaust as you and am considering the same option.
Others want feedback too on :
Performance
Noise at cruise
noise on acceleration

Jason, I got a really good deal on the SR Motorsports Aluminum Flywheel. Otherwise (as you can see from my mods) I probably would have gotten a Racing Beat product. Both companies seem to have very good reputations from the RX8 community.

Just got the SR Motorsports hi-flow cat (with resonator) & SR Motorsports pully kit today. Look very nice. You can tell the craftsmanship on these pieces is very high. The welds are solid, and well done, the pullies are smooth with no "extra" mold pieces that i have seen on some units.

Hi Nemesis,
Good to hear from you. Was that Racing Beat event great or what ? I still have the unit in my closet. I was thinking about waiting until the RB air intake came out, then installing all the parts at once (adding the SR Motorsports pullies, SR Motorsports hi-flow cat, SR Motorsports flywheel & RB intake) so I can do a before & after dyno. Although I am getting antsy.

Power!!
I think most of us would rather see you dyno each item separately along the way or one after the other cumulatively to see which mod gives the most benefit and if any of the group have multiplicative gains when used together (EG: intake and exhaust together as opposed to separately). Just my opinion. I know dyno time ain't cheap.

WHAT!?...for just $40 i can get 3 Dyno pulls with power/torque print out and air/fuel...i mean your not going to be doing any "tuning" off the dyno since you don't have any reason to..so why is it so much..or is just that much out in cali?
regardless...i am waiting for your results on the SR midpipe with hiflow and resonator with RB exhaust...that's exactly what i'm contemplating on doing...
