Need help deciding

There's a ton of threads around here about intakes! As many would say the stock intake is good but its all about personal pref. I asked this question and like 10 diff people gave me diff answers. The main argument is cold air over short ram; based on what I read around here (after I bought the k&N typhoon v2) short ram intakes cause a loss of hp because of the hot air its bringing into the engine. Cold air intakes like (aem, racing beat etc) extend a long pipe below the bay so it pics up colder air..im sure you already know this blah blah mumbo jumbo lol. Im selling my short ram intake and I just ordered the red aem cold air! Many users will say get the cold air but they all have different brands they like. To each their own..

Also depends what you are looking for. Performance-wise, you won't be getting much bang for your buck with an aftermarket intake. That's not saying that there will be no performance increase but the OEM intake is very good already. If it's the sound you are looking for, same deal as before: youtube. Alot of the guys here say the K&N sounds the best/loudest but its all about preference.
On the other hand, if you ARE looking for more performance, I'd suggest passing on the intake and getting a cat-back that will compliment your midpipe. Though the majority of the performance gain will be from eliminating the cat, sandwiching a 3" midpipe in between 2.5" headers and cat back will be somewhat restricting. There are good catback systems that don't cost much more than a Mazdaspeed intake.
