looks good! How many liters is that thing holding? I'll check the rest of the thread, but you should make a proper DIY, if you can

1.5 litre capacity...

As for a DIY, there are many on this mod already, all I did differently was shop around for an oil tank to fit the space well and build a bracket to support it.

My best advice is to go with your car to a motorcycle salvage yard and find something with a good fit and buy it. I was fortunate enough to find this one from a 1986 Yamaha Enduro type bike. Once I brought it home I could design a bracket. It seemed logical to use the bolts that hold the washer fluid reservoir. I suppose if you can't weld, you may have more challenges with designing your bracket.

Some good comments about the rest of this mod by others in this thread helped me as well as the DIY that is linked here.

I will add that Beodudes idea of waiting till you have the bolts off the OMP before you remove the coolant hose is a good idea and seemed obvious to me once I got to that step as there is not much length on the clear tubes to play with. Another thing that is good to know is that when you are removing the battery case there are 2 parts that make up the side walls. They just click back together afterwards. It took me a few minutes to figure out how to get at 2 of the bolts that hold the base on before I realized it was actually 2 pieces. The most challenging part was keeping the gasket in place while lining up the keys, to solve this I used Kleenflow gasket black (it comes in a tube and is for waterpump gaskets mainly). Once the gasket was stuck to the adaptor I put the bottom back bolt through to hold it in place and found it easier to line up the keys and the remaining bolt holes. Once they were all threaded and I was certain everything was seating properly I snugged them up.

I will continue to premix at least until I see that the tank level is going down and after that I may continue as well but will cut back to about 3 oz per tank of fuel. There are other products that can go in the gas tank that help with lubrication such as seafoam that have other benefits as well so I will experiment a bit with what I put in the gas tank once I am sure the OMP is working properly.

Any specific questions you might have about my install will be answered, just ask.

Seeing as Seafoam is a solvent, I wouldn't want to put it in the gas tank to run through the engine. From my reading in the premix thread, it seems like a bad idea. I think it pretty much shears the oil film off the rotor housing, and you'd get contact.

I personally like the idea of doing .5 oz per gallon... Just seems to be a good idea, especially after Mazda added the third oil injector. While the series I Renesis won't necessarily fail because of that, I think it has a lot of potential to extend engine life.

Dooooooo iiiiiiiiit. I like my Agency Power, but I plan on keeping stock exhaust for a long time. I especially liked the price point, since it fit nicely in my $500 for mods for Vamlumtimes day along with some other stuff. Plus, people seem to say it makes the most power... But I bet the BHR does really well too.

Just make sure you get some bolts beforehand. I needed to get some for the three at the header side. They're pressed in, and I didn't know how to get them out of the stock cat.

A solvent (from the Latin solvere, "loosen") is a liquid, solid, or gas that dissolves another solid, liquid, or gaseous solute, resulting in a solution that is soluble in a certain volume of solvent at a specified temperature.

As defined by wikipedia, you are right Beo..

In the case of seafoam, the intention is to break down carbon, this improves the function of the apex seals giving better compression and less chance of engine oil entering the combustion chamber. The makers of seafoam designed their product to be safe in the combustion chamber, it is a 100 percent oil product that breaks down carbon deposits and burns with minimal solid residue.

I agree that it shouldn't be used in every tank of gas (it is a fun suggestion in the premix thread though... lol) because once carbon is removed it serves no significant purpose, however I can't see it being harmful with ocassional use.

I will also agree that 2 cycle oil is far more suitable when referring specifically to lubrication. Isn't that why we skinned our knuckles installing OMP Adaptors?

Hahaha very true, very true. Another thing about Seafoam is that it seems to like having time to get in the seals, and dissolve the gunk. Using it in gas might not be very effective because of the lack of time the Seafoam gets. Also, I wonder how such low concentrations would do?

I don't know... Just running some stuff through my head. I plan on doing regular Seafoams myself. I just wonder the cost / benefit of running it as a premix.

Right again, it does work better when given time to dissolve the carbon.

To get the most out of your seafoam, there are methods of its use on this site that allow it to do its job of removing carbon deposits much more effectively.

Whether you suck it up through vacuum lines or squirt it directly into the spark plug ports is up to you..

Hey Beo,

Did you get your BHR coils installed yet?

No, I wish though. I won't be ordering them for a while. Probably July or so maybe? Sounds like it would be a good wedding anniversary present to me! Haha

I did Seafoam yesterday though. Pretty good times. Got the ESPS plug off in a jiffy. Just used a flat head and pried it off while holding the clip in. Piece of cake. Moving my OMP reservoir did give me some trouble, since both worm gear clamps had loosened themselves.... (Yikes!) Which made the tank line pop off. So, if you have worm gear clamps holding the line on, make sure it's super tight, and check it regularly.

Still, it was a good day for my car. Wash, wax, seafoam... Yeah! I took a video of the smoke show, it was pretty good stuff.

I didn't make a video but it does make alot of white smoke..

Oh, and happy anniversary and make sure you take your lady out for a nice dinner too!

The coils are a tight fit but it really isn't that difficult to install them, just don't over tighten them. I have heard that guys have stripped the bolt or had the stud beak off/pull out on them. I replaced wires and plugs at the same time and noticed the difference immediately.

Thanks man, but it's not for a few more months! Hahahah Dinner would be nice.

I don't usually have the problem of stripping bolts or studs. I've been working on things long enough to know how tight things like to be. But of course now that I've said that I'll probably break everything on the car... Hahah

I bought this a while back..

http://www.magneticdrainplug.com/Aut...lugs/AP02.html

..and plan to switch to synthetic oil this weekend, I am about to find out how much magnetic particulant this powerful little magnet has picked up in the last 1K miles. I will post a pic next week for those who are curious.

The car has 71 000 KMS which is about 45 K miles. I changed the oil over the winter when I first got it home, did some mods before the spring and have been driving it about a month now on the manufacturer recommended 5W20 dino oil.

When I changed the oil, I did the whole car tilt trick and was able to extract about 4.5 litres. Since then I have added the OMP adaptor kit which is talked about in this thread and will be replacing with 5W40 Redline Synthetic. Again I will try to extract as much oil as I can before the switch because I don't like the idea of the oils mixing.

Should I run it for a while after adding the new oil and then drain again and add more new oil or is this just a waste?

If you really wanted to get as much out as you could, get some cheap 5w40 and a Fram filter. Change your oil with that, run the car for 10 minutes, then change your oil again with the good stuff.

Some finishing touches to the exterior that I have been working on lately..

-Airbrushed a graphic on my hood, it turned out really nice
-Installed front and rear accents (polished aluminum)
-Added strakes (again polished aluminum)
-Finally got around to putting on my clear corners (I was waiting for my amber LED's got them now)

I will post pictures after the weekend, I want to give the car a good cleaning first. I have been busy with work but Sunday afternoon I will make her all pretty for a photo shoot with my recent add ons.

Congrats Beo!

I will also post the pic I took of the magnetic oil plug I promised a while back ( not much collected but you'll see).
