Wonder how it sounds compare to the SS version. Perhaps one day you and Mikeb can meet up and hear the difference.

Nice exhaust, I will be getting mine soon. Looking forward in hearing your after thoughts.
Rollin' Pimp Style ! Can't give up the bling dude ! :D I was really looking at a set of the Anthracite SSR Competitions to replace my Sterns but I get so many complements on the chrome rims, I'm having trouble letting go of them. 20-30 lbs. is 20-30 lbs. Take some weight off to offset the weight I have added on (Greddy Turbo, Cry02 C02 system, etc.)

Nice! Me likey. I'd love to hear any input on sound and whatnot. By the way, what're you going to do with the RB? Selling it on ebay or something of the like?

Time to fork over the big bucks and get Rays Magnesium MS Rims. Only about 1400+ each.

Or the Autovelocity Carbon Fiber Rims. Carbon Fiber outer rim & magnesium spokes = 7 to 8 lbs. a piece but also a wallet flatening $1,500 per rim. Scary thing is I already checked it out. I heard there were dealing at $1,200 per rim. At that rate I would have thought about it. But they weren't . Supposed to make a new version out of titanium spokes that was supposed to be even lighter !

No video camera (sorry clsest I have is a digital camera). Also, not sure how to convert a sound clip to MP3. I will probably be goig to the Malibu Canyon run so I'll see if X-ped can grab a video of it.

Installed it 2 days ago. I drove it around yesterday & today. Honestly, it doesn't sound much different from the Racing Beat unit, but that is a good thing as I loved my Racing Beat exhaust. More for looks (titanium burnt tips & weight savings of 30 lbs.).

Sounds good to me. When I had just my Racing Beat exhaust on I thought it sounded perfect, then I added the SR Motorsports hi-flow cat & it got a bit too loud, then I put a big hunk of metal in the exhaust flow (aka Greddy Turbo) and it was quiet again. Just about perfect for me. As an exeryday driver I don't ant it too loud. If you are expecting Greddy exhaust sound levels it won't give you that. More like Racing Beat level.

In the case of your heavy 19's, 20-30 lbs unsprun, rotational weight is not 20-30 lbs sprung weight.

Duh. Of course I know that. My quote said weight such as the C02 system, turbo, etc. I know that unsprung weight does not equal regular weight. Reducing the weight there because there aren't many other areas where you can reduce weight without losing looks, comfort, or performance (say like taking off my turbo). This cat back exhaust pretty much does the same job as my previous unit, but it saved me about 30 lbs. I wish I could get the hi-flow cat to work without the incessant backfiring that would save another 12 lbs.

I'm debating. On one hand the wheels look very nice...good bling factor. Get lots of complaments. On the other hand, they are heavy. I'm not really into tracking the car, so I am thinking about just keeping them on.

I'm confused...your not tracking the car...but your concerned enough with weight savings to put a buttload of money down for a beautiful ti exhaust system....yet at the same time, your driving with not only larger, but heavier wheels then stock, completely removing any of the gains the exhaust gave you, and reducing the cars potential in handling, acceleration, and braking.

I'd say pick one. Either go for the gold, or go for the chrome .

I'm probably like a lot of other RX8 owners. Use the car as a daily driver, but I do go to the track, but rarely. I like to carve canyons (been on the Malibu Canyon run). Just to me is tracking maybe once every few months, & going for the canyon drives worth giving up appearance everyday. I don't really accept the fact that you have to have one or the other, and can't do both. I don't really care about track times a sec. here or there won't kill me. When I track a car it is more for the sheer pleasure. At the same time I'm not going to drop 500 lbs. worth of stereo equipment in the back & kill the performance of this car outright just for some tunes. I'm looking for a healthy balance of the two. I like the looks of the exhaust, the sound, & if I can drop 30 lbs. off of my car, than so much the better. It's kind've like Kyokugen lug nuts. If I can get them & they save me 1/2 lb. on each wheel, but still do the same function as a regular steel lugnut, then why not. Or say new tires like the Toyo T1R's. They offer long tread life, aggressive traction, low noise, yet drop about 3 lbs. per wheel. Perfect addition to my car. Versus..say the Falken RT-615's, which offer better traction, but a louder everyday ride, and shorter treadlife, not to mention only about a .5 lb. weight savings. I understand that traction will be better, but for me the tradeoffs aren't worth it. That's where I am with my car. If you were to tell me to take out my stock leather seats for a set of racing seats that would save me..say..30 lbs., yet be back breakingly uncomfortable I wouldn't do it.
