must have---water methenol system i
I thought long and hard about whether or not to start this thread. But with my latest discoveries and the latest feedback--i had no choice. The positive evidence is overwhelming. I am surprised a little that no one else has started a thread before this.
I have a limited belief that a water meth system may actually be a saving point for our engine. I dont want to get too detailed, so let me mention just a few basics.
1- problem with carbon buildup and related probs of detonation, misfires and poor performance-- a water meth system activated all the time acts like a constant steam cleaning --in the old days water was used for de carboning an engine and some still use it. Carbon buildup can cause sticky seals and lost compression, it can cause hotspots and possibly detonation, it can cause misfires and poor performance and raise general Hell in your engine..
2- lean spikes--fi and NA guys--would you believe a member with w/m had a lean spike(he is fi) to over 16 at wot and everything was ok? w/m is the best insurance you can get.
3- performance increase--- i am not talking about tuning on the edge using a water meth system--although you could--no i speak of only adding the system without adjusting the tune--even na guys will gain a small amount of power because of the reduced intake temps.
it is easy to set up, cool to look at and works great---so whats the prob---go get one
Seriously---do think about it and do some research. A few member here have some experience.

Olddragger is absolutely right, it becomes a necessity when you add FI. Pump gas will only get you so far.
A great place to learn about using it on the rotary is none other than the RX7club.com

Finally Boosted!!!!!!!
I couldn't agree more. I have always planned on a water/meth kit as insurance for detonation but I never really thought about its cleaning effects. Thanks!

It really depends on how much you are spraying, if you not tuning with meth then using it is just an insurance policy incase something may go wrong. That being said if you happend to not be able to use meth all the time. It wouldn't be detrimental to your motor.

OD,
what kit did you use. Ive been wanting to do this for awhile but had no idea how i should go about setting it up.
Seems snow has a MAF based unit. But i dont know if because i use a Int-x if thats a good route for me to go.
Im also setting up my batman style signal, that says BHR.
RAY? Where are you?
too much coffee this morning.

check out wwww.alcoholinjection.com (I hope that's right). The company is called Devil's Own and they make a damned fine kit for a good price. The owner started off just designing his own kit for his Grand Prix. It gave some very good gains and the GP community got interested. He got with someone to design the progressive controller and there you have it. I had their kit on my GP and never had a single issue. I'd recommend it to anyone in the FI world

The IntX has an aux channel that can be used to control ancillary devices such as nitrous or an alky kit and the maps can be programmed to take advantage of this. At the same time, the Snow kit can use MAF voltage or boost pressure as a trigger signal. The AEM system, which has its own merits, uses boost pressure. In any event, I have custom stainless tanks(as well as my spacer plate) that will be included with the BHR alky kit.
Probably something for Scott or someone else who knows the ins and outs of the Int-x
