I have a Haltech Interceptor piggy back system on my RX-8 04. I have mapped in 3-5 more hp fuel wise but not tested the ignition yet. The car is pretty strong and even that has not so much experience with mapping Ecus i think it's pretty easy to work with. So far i am satisfied with the product.

Same reason haltechs are popular with the Rx-7 crowd, cheap and super easy to tune.

On a side note, is the interceptor X a microtech based unit? Dannobre's comments are confusing and I believe misleading, unless his reference is to standalone EMS(s) in general...

Yes, it is. The Microtech software is available on Mazsport's website.

I believe what he is talking about is that when you buy a microtech as a microtech you have to wire the ecu harness yourself. When you buy the interceptor it comes with an RX-8 harness already done, ie you just plug it straihght in and start playing.

Cheers

Bro I am based here in Singapore too and have installed a Microtech LT-12 system in my car and it runs fine - only problem is the CEL but that is to be expected. Feel free to check in with me if you need any more info.
