Dropped my 8 off for the Brake-squeal TSB and was talking to a couple of the guys there. Apparently Memphis is not the "ideal" market for Mazdaspeed. The dealers here are charged $20,000.00 just to be a Mazdaspeed Dealer. That gets them all the bells and whistles. The dealer I was at did it with the MS Protege and couldn't move them off the lot at all. They had 10, sold 3 and had to return (however they do that) the other 7. They passed completely on the MS 6 and MS Miata. There is another dealer in town who is a MS Miata dealer; but they are stuck with 6 right now that won't sell. Neither one of them are going to the MS 6 because they don't think anyone around here will spend the $30,000.00 plus for a Mazda 6.

This might work to my advantage though - I posted the "What to buy my wife? S2000, Miata, or MS Miata" thread. If they can't sell them....cha-ching for me.

Maybe if they made a Mazdaspeed B-Series Truck? Felt lined gun rack in the window, ATV tie downs, hooks on the back window for the appropriate type flag, big tires, etc?

Better yet - a Mazda-Bling 6. 22 inch spinners, the heart-felt memorial decaled to the back window, thumping sound sytem, etc.

That's too bad. Although I would think if they did a MS RX8 it would sell better, just because this is supposeed to be their "flagship" sportscar. I guess Toyota & TRD have had tremendous success with their TRD truckline, maybe Mazda should try that.
