I can't see how you can go wrong with the Borla exhaust from what I've read about it. Its 10 pounds lighter than stock, claims to make 10HP extra, and many say it sounds very good. Of all the stainless steel exhausts, this one seems to constantly get good comments.

The only thing that ever bothered me about the Borla exhaust was how the pipe entered the muffler. Instead of going more directly into the muffler, it curves around and appears to enter from the side. But, I don't know how much of a difference this would or would not make for flow. Borla of course claims it flows well.

Since I own one, the only problem really with that design is that when the exhaust exits, one exhaust tip is in the direct path, the other needs to change direction. As a result, the right tip (when looking at the rear of the car) gets dirty a bit faster. Also if there are light amount of flames, you have a better chance of it coming out the right than the left.

Since we only need so many threads that ask "what exhaust should I get", I'm merging any threads that ask this.

It's an opinion! Get what YOU want!

There are too many exahust questions on rx8club. It's really opinion, nothing else.

Just go on to youtube search for the exaust and listen to it; or meet up with some rx8 guys in your area.
and listen to it.
If you like, get it.
If not, don't.

to be honest, i think we all overthinking the OP...

i think by meanest he prolly means the most badass and fear-yielding...

that by definition would be the lowest growl...

last time i checked the borla was the lowest growl of them all, the only one im yet to confirm against it is the turboxs...

but of the main ones, ive heard the borla is the lowest growl so that should be ur answer
