Al, you can try this...http://www.rx7.com/store/rx8/rx8exhaust.html

below the rp supercat midpipe, there is a link to add to your cart an RP midpipe bolt and gasket set for 30 bucks. You may want to ask them for pics of it or something. I would think the gaskets would be the same though.

Hm.. RP is a straight 3".. so it'll be interesting to see what they use for gaskets. Ill give them a call tomorrow.

You guys that have this pipe before they "went out of business" (in a matter of speaking) are very lucky.

I have heard Jon's exhaust a few times and it is the best sound exhaust I have ever heard... on any car.

That said... if anyone is ever looking to get rid of theirs for numerous emissions violation regulations, the green movement, able to race stock at autocross...

Lets face it, midpipes are real hassles, and terrible for the environment - so stop feeling guilty about having this midpipe and sell it to me.

lol, that's funny

if you haven't seen this already...check my thread out on racing beat developing a DR midpipe with a superior design of mazsports: https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-aftermarket-performance-modifications-23/%2A%2A%2A%2A%2Aattn-all-those-wanting-dual-resonated-midpipe%2A%2A%2A%2A%2A-161303/

Vyn,
I would consider the Racing Beat mid-pipe 05rex8 pointed out above.
With a couple companies working on their version of a quieter mid-pipe (rather that be single or dual resonated), you might get a better pipe design overall.
I would definitely wait for spring to see what these guys come up with.

Plus Vyn... it'll go great with the dozens of RB items you already have on your car.

What what what?!?!
Now I might have to pull mine off to verify (not that I don't trust you).
I'm a dumbass for not checking it before installing it... that's what you get for trusting someone.

Still... when someone quotes a FULL 3" pipe, I think all the way through!

well.. I suppose there has to be some diminishing since I don't think the exhaust manifold of the car will take a full 3"?

Ahh... good point, but you also measured the cat-back side of the mid-pipe and got 2.75".

I know what your saying....but all midpipes and cat backs are like that, except for the TurboXS full exhaust...it's the only true 3" system

yeah.. they said it's the same gasket as stock..

the type of gasket I need is apparently referred to as a "collector gasket".. i'm going to see if i try a few speed shops tomorrow and hopefully they have some that I can sample instead of ordering blindly..
