I think swapping out a 5-speed miata tranny is best, but there goes the stock class.

It is a pleasure to serve! As one person on here noted, the forced induction people will really reap the benefits while the NA folk will also see some advantages especially in the fuel economy department.
Wait till you see what else we may have up our sleeves.

It would take a lot of work to put a miata 5 speed in an 8. That would not be a wise swap since it is a smaller, weaker piece. The RX8 5 speed on the other hand is a different story.
Paul.

Still available?

Are the 4.10 final drives still available?

Did anyone do any before and after testing to assess just how it impacts acceleration?

Cost?

What was the cost of the swap, including the core and shipping?

I've use the 3rd Gen RX-7 ring pinion - 4.1 and works great for me. I'm sure there's a lot of 3rd Gen RX-7 folks out there that will be happy to trade there 4.1 with our RX-8 4.44.
