intake installation time

Hey guys i purchased an aem cold air intake a while back and never had the chance to get it installed. Im finally gonna install it and i was wondering how long it usually takes a mechanic to install the intake so they don't rip me off and charge me for longer than it should take. Thanks.

1 to 2 hrs the max, if they know what they're doing and good at it.

I got my Mazdaspeed CAI installed by the dealership for $50 and it took them about 45 minutes to an hour.

I will recommend you install the CAI yourself if you get time to spare. Otherwise, go to your local trustworthly store to install. I have done a few CAI in the past even though I am not mechanic. It should take no more than 2 hours your time during the weekend. Have fun...

Do it yourself........no better way to start learning your car and it's always a plus because you will be checking out other things along the way.

I'm not good at stuff doing it the first time. Get a friend that's done it before to help you out. You should be able to do this yourself.

^+1..........but see above for pricing if you just are going to have someone do it and don't be taken advantage of.

Ya know......if you do it yourself, you'd save a lot for your favorite beverage!

Good call. Get to know the locals and they'll usually be happy to help. We use to do the same over here.

I once was on the verge of moving to Scottsdale to be honest. (not because I wanted more 8's to hang out with) But for now its me and a fella who owns 2 RX-7s.

We get lubed up with oil and play with each others rotories to pass the time. (not synthetic though)
