any one remove the eletric air actuator sleeves on the lower intake but left the sensor plugged in??? i removed them from the lower intake for cleaning but im considering leaving it out for good. and just leaving the sensor pluged in. as i did on my rx7 years ago though those were air operated
I’ve been meaning to contact Adaptronic and inquire about adjustment of the actuation speed.
On the 2009+ LIM; it not only eliminates the P2 injectors, it has sensors on each APV to detect and verify the open/closed position. I’ll be wiring those in on mine just for that purpose.
im going to put the car together with them off and see how it runs with them out but the sensors connected. first with cobb unmarried, then with cobb married and the sensors shut off. do a write up on and see how it performs.

yeah this isn’t your old engine; you can’t just leave the APV actuated sleeves out and have any kind of positive outcome. The rest of the intake is going to get crudded out with dirty combustion gasses backflowing into it when operating under 6000 rpm.
^^you got an educating message left for you concerning low compression rotors too.
dont follow?? motors in its 7th tuning map and **** this car is a beast. probably have 2 or 3 more maps to go see what we squeeze out of her. but the engine just breathes so nice and smooth the whole way through the power band. planing on geting dyno nubers once the final map is done.
4. 2005 mazdarx8 california model 5. manual transmission 5speed trans. 7. naturaly aspirated 8.i have 2 yellow 476cc injectors on the block = 4 blue 626cc injectors on the intake manifold. 9.racing-beat intake system with BOTH MESH SCREENS removed 10. Supporting mods are racing beat header, racing beat silencer, hks high max single exhaust. black halo racing ignition 1st series coils, 5 speed transmission, excedy stage 1 clutch, upper and middle vdi actuators are fully open on the intake manifold, and lower 6 port actuators sleeves removed which allows full flowing air at all times, oil pellet modification from jim at JPR. would like idle at 1,100 rpm and want cooling fans to turn on at 180% degrees

Why would you do that for an N/A ?

My prediction is that you lose more power between 4000 and 7000 than you gain from 7000-9000 ............... making the car slower than stock.
This crowd is going to be hard to convince with wishes. Come back with dyno sheets.
id like to think of my car as the test subject for things most owners wont do.due to no knowledge or results of it ever being done before. there are compnies that won't make a custom intake for our cars due to the vdi and actuator sleeves. once we have collected the data we will send this info out to shops and engine builders that are looking for better ways to help the rx8 make more power. i cant wait to show what we find good or bad. its a learning lesson.

You really don't think people have messed around with the intake valves before and that we don't know what will happen ?
Someone did you a favour and actually dynoed all the different scenarios .....
Orange :primary open only
Dark Blue : primary and secondary only, open all the time
Light blue : primary , secondary and auxillary all open (no VDI)
Green: Primary , secondary , auxillary and VDI all open all the time (essentially what you have done jorx7)
Pink: All valves operating correctly
looks nice, we made around 168 to the wheels with the sleeves removed. were going to put them back in with them open and see what we get with them installed with a smoother air curve into the 6 port opening. hopefully before next year.

its a brand new motor from mazda only 5k miles on it. we might crack it open to turbo it. but were debating. and yeah car is still a beast. even with power it makes puts up a good fight with some nicley modified cars.
