If you have the bottle disconnected, usually it is not an issue. I've traveled through multiple states with a full bottle of nitrous, only with it disconnected.

If you get feeling like Paul walker, pull over and hook the line back up so you can blow your diamond plate floorboards out.

Nitrous laws should be no different than adding forced induction. I prefer nitrous, because the 1% of the time I drive like an *******, its in a situation where I'd like to have more power. When not in use, disarm the system. Simple.
Funny enough if you read my post I didnt give you that "a pressurized bottle is dangerous", or are you seeing things? And gas is not the most combustible liquid, you could drop a match in a bowl of gas and it would not light it would just go out. The vapor I agree with though, its actually more dangerous if you have 1 gallon of gas in the tank than 10 gallons.

Everyone seems to need it to pass people. Why not sell your car and buy something faster if you think its that slow? I am not the person going slow behind the trailer, I am the person miles ahead because I passed them easily since they are going slow. On the highway 9 times out of 10 a majority of people are going 70-80 in a 55 anyway so not like you would need to pass them.

I have not personally given reasons not to use it in your car I have only said what I think about your reasons for using it.

9krpmrx8, I just called up the dallas police and I confused the hell out of them. They dont even know their own laws lol. I just asked if there were any laws for using nitrous in a vehicle and at first the guy said its for sure illegal because your "boosting your car to go over the speed limit". Then I asked what if you dont speed, and they said you would be getting up to speed to fast and thats bad(I hate that law in any state). Then I asked them if turbos and superchargers were illegal because they do the same basic thing and his response was "oh no, people put those on all that time thats fine". They said "if it passes inspection with the nitrous system then its legal, but when you use it your creating more emissions than not using it so at that point you would not pass emissions".

^^I am not saying that its not legal in Texas, thats just what the people told me but they didn't know their *** from their elbow.

Your state or at least that officer really has no clue about the laws lol, I tried though. I can see everyones point about turbos and superchargers being legal and this not(hooked up in most states I still believe). To each his own but its still my opinion that theres no real reason to be using it on the street for a quick burst of speed/power.

just adding to the nonsense:

gasoline vapors are a higher velocity explosive than TNT, think about it.

I actually was just replying to your comment, stating that ignorance was in full effect.

The rest of that, was pretty much the exact argument I have used in the past on various other automotive forums when someone ignorant starts spouting off about how nitrous should be illegal on the street, but still advocate bolt on forced induction and things of the like. I'm going to assume you think methanol injection should be banned on the street as well?

I fail to see your logic, actually. Why would I buy another car to go faster, when I could modify my already perfectly good car to do the same? Rotary engines love nitrous, so it just seems to work well together. Power when I want it, tame when I don't. Some people prefer their power adders in a bottle, others a crank or exhaust driven supercharger. Banning something from the road ways because you don't understand it is ignorant.

And as far as the match + gasoline comment, I won't even touch that. I do, however agree about the vapors.

1. Where are you seeing this info, I would like to know what states this applies, as I have heard this hearsay law for a long time, but when I went to look, (for states relative to my travels not the entire US) I was only able to find ONE out of the 15 that I looked at that even mentioned the use of nitrous, and that was an outdated no longer on the books law. Many of the states I have looked at have NO laws on the books pertaining to nitrous use on a vehicale. Laws agianst the misuse via inhelation, but nothing concerning the use on the roadways. If there isn't a current law on the books about it then it isn't illegal.

2. So there is no reason to ever go into boost on the street either than?

Don't even know what methanol injection is, so cant help you there.

I never said people cant use nitrous, obviously they are free to do what they want. You just don't understand the word "opinion". Me being wrong or not in your eyes is your opinion, you can think what you want the same as I can.

You can choose not to "touch that" with the gas but its a fact.

Yes the laws for nitrous are very hard to find out. I have been searching for a while now and cant seem to find anything that says legal or not, other than the numerous sites that link the story I posted above. Also tons of questions on different forums about it.

I just don't see why bob in his honda civic needs a nos bottle hooked up driving around the streets. You dont *have* to pass people on the road, and if they are going 55 in a 65 its not very hard to pass them going even the speed limit or 5 over. Also I really doubt anyone has ever actually used nos to pass someone on the highway and if they did they should have their car taken away lol.

I never said it should not be legal at all, if people want to take it to the track and use it there then I am all for it. Its just my opinion on it, not like I am writing the laws or anything. Also I am not saying he should or shot not do it, its his own choice.
I do

So i am also planning on adding a zex nitrous kit to my 8 that just had a engine replacement. I have found the kit and all the other things needed to install it. I understand how to install it. But i have heard when you use nitrous on the 8 one needs to run a colder plug? Can anyone advise on what plugs they are? I also seen if i plan on using more than 55 shot i need to have more fuel delivery. How is this achieved? By a programmer? any specific unit? Thanks for any useful information you may provide. and by all means let the "holier than thou" begin their flamming.
