HI EVERYBODY,
finally, just one week ago i got my Red RX-8, and i'm happy with it, but i'm still missing my Italian Car, which stayed in Italy.
As you can understand i come from Italy, and in that country, unfortunatelly, Tuning is illegal.
Actually, you can't change anything in the car, you can't even put a Spoiler or change the Wheels, you have to keep it exactly as she camed out from the factory, if you want to change somthing, is going to cost you $500 in taxes, and can only be an estetic part, Performance Tuning in completly Illegal.
The only thin legal and without any Tax Charges is the Electronic tuning.
We are used to take out at least 20 Horses by reprogramming the main Computer of the car, actually, on my Alfa Romeo, i took off 30 Horses on the Wheels, and it costed about $100, but, i could also change the EPROM, and that would cost me about $500 and the performance are the same as reprogramming.
So, here is the thing: doues anybody knows any kind of program that is good for the RX-8?
Nothing to spend a ton of money, at the most i want to spend $300, but i'd like to take out some 15-30 Horses without changing too much parts.
The only parts that i would change are the Air Filter and the Exhaust, but, i don't like to have a too much noisy car, a little good sound i would like it a lot, but not too much, i still want to talk in the Car, so, mainly, my Tuning is about Programs...

Search Canzoomer, IntercepterX, E-manage, and ECU mods...and you should get a lot of hits

Things are coming along...there should be news in the next 6-8 months on being able to alter the stock ECU flash....just not possible easily yet.

 

You might want to talk to your friends in Italy. I believe they're farther along with the ECU mods than we (Americans) are.

 

Yes, Alex developped something, but it 2500 Eur for the complete kit and 1000 Eur for the PCM re-prog only.

 

Who's not ahead of us in North America when it comes to reflashing the PCM?

 

it's 2000 Euro for the internal hardware conversion and initial software reflash and only 100 Euro for subsequent reflashes
