Jet Performance ECU upgrade
I emailed Jet Performance asking if they had any plans for an ECU upgrade for the 8, to my surprise he said they already had one. He gave me the P/N#65003. I checked the website and it said that P/N was for the RX-7 TII. I emailed the guy back to say WTF this is the wrong application. I was told that this is a generic P/N they use and it is a different application than the 7.
Anyway, here's the info you probably want to hear. The ECU package must be purchased before you send it in, retail cost is $499. They also state that any mods you want to perform should be done previous to ECU upgrade as it will be done to spec. (don't know how they do this tuning without vehicle). Although each application is different, they say average gain is 21-23hp to the wheels.
Anybody run one of thier upgrades on an RX-7 as they have 3 applications on the site? Any good?

I was going to do a JET ECu upgrade for my 2000 Mustang back in the day. I think they make a good product, but I think their ECu upgrade for the RX8 would be suspect. It's scary when they have a "universal" anything for an ECu upgrade. If you give them the PN, unless you mention it, how will they know it is for the RX8 ? I have seen tuned CZ units (with a few mods) give that range of hp increase (low 20's). I personally doubt a 20+ hp gain from a unit on this car that is not tuned for the specific car.

I've heard Jet ECU thing is BS.
When I had a '00 Civic, I had Jet controller which is supposed to give me 10whp gains, but it ruined my stock ECU and had to remove it right away.

ive never heard of anyone having good luck with these unit's i rather save and buy a proven product like canzoomer.
I used this in my 2002 celica and it blew CEL's all the time. these also require you to remove the ecu and ship to jet which is a huge pain because it takes 2-3 weeks to get back.
