Anyone out there close to me having the InterX be willing to loan me their serial cord adapter? Scott forgot to give mine back after tuning it. I'd come and get it and return it.

Scott if you're listning could you mail it to me. I'll PM you anyway.

If the Int-X is purchased for N/A can the same one be used if I eventually buy a turbo?

but he could have worked that out....

this is something we talked about in person...

but if he has the cruise working with the turbo all might be well...

Wheels mag in ausssie got the following for a stock RX8
50-75 MPH (80-120kph)
3rd : 4.6 s
4th : 7.2s
5th : 9.0s
6th : 11.1s

Just for interest the turbo RX8 they tested in the article got 3.0,4.0,5.0,6.4

Hey there.. I just performed a run from some modifications that I did and the good news is that at 5hg I was able to do away with a nasty lean condition that occured between my WOT and CRS maps. Nice!

The bad news is that I had to increase the values on the LOAD map which also in turn made all of my values that were perfect on the WOT map increase to partially rich.. In other words. One mistake fixed.. another one created.

I did happen to log my speed during the runs and was able to capture the amount of time it took me to go from 50 mph - 75 mph in 3rd gear.

The result was a run that took 4.3 seconds...

I'll lean everything out again back to my original settings and try again tomorrow...

This tuning is a very interesting process. If you look at the two screens that I am about to post, you will notice that the AFR readings went rich the entire way accross the rpm range. This is due to the load settings increase that I had to make... I'll lean out my WOT map/0hg settings just a bit to compensate for the increase in fuel.

Before and after screen shots to follow....

Any Dyno graph yet ?

BTW
I did some in gear tests in my stock 8 (with catless midpipe) 1/2 tank of gas @ 15deg C

could not get below 5.0s in 3rd gear - your 4.3 is very quick !

Dave , very interested to hear your impressions of the car under part throttle .

Driving on twisty roads I notice a lot of the time is spent at part throttle rather than WOT .
Are there significant improvements at part throttle as well ?

It's pretty good right now but I feel that it could be even better. Under 10 inches of mercury the car is just starting to pick up speed and I havent yet opened up the second injectors.

This can really be improved upon I think and will allow the partial throttle situation to be even better than it is. Right now the car is pretty much set up for good cruising and the occasional WOT situation. I really do need to improve upon the 80 % throttle possition and transfer from this to WOT.

I am working on it but it's been sooo hot here in So. California that I havent tuned my car for over a few weeks now. Even at night the temperture barely gets into the high 70's and thats only after 10:00 pm...

Not that good of weather for tuning a car.

but anyway. I feel confident that I can make this even better by tuning out some of these lack of fuel issues with the second injectors coming on earlier.. It feels pretty weak right now at 80% throttle. I really dont have any complaints at WOT and even feel the power come on strong when it switches on the second bank of injectors...

Thats the main reason why I want to open them up earlier. I am controlling it right now by just increasing the duration that the first injectors stay open, but in the long run this obviously isnt the best solution....

Thanks Dave ,
I have bought an ECU from Rotormaster in Aus & will be dynotuning as soon as I get my other bolt ons . This ECU will stay in closed loop with std factory settings until a preset point , so this is why i'm keen to learn from what throttle setting/rpm you are getting gains .
Any suggetions on where to switch it over to open loop ?
