I have the RP midpipe and Greddy Catback also, and man is this beast freaking loud. I am going to get a highflow cat just to quiet it down a bit. It is really really loud. Um just my opinion of course, but I define loud as I can hear it alot while cruising and listening to music, and that is with the windows up.

I have just installed the rotary extreme intake, but don't have any exhaust yet. I think it doesn't matter which one you install first if you going to get both.

I think that you would get greater enjoyment out of getting the exhaust first. More $$$, yes, but you get to see those tips and hear that rumble everytime you get in the car. I am very happy with my RX8Store Exhaust. Great price and sounds awesome.

My own opinion - I would do exhaust first.

My other opinion - I wouldn't touch the intake for the time being.

Cheers,
Hymee.

$600 is A LOT for a Domestically produced mediocre exhaust system. Borla is made in USA and that price is a lot over the price of a true JDM Exhaust system + shipping.

I got my GReddy SP Exhaust System for $500 !!! With everything straight from Trust Japan ! Never ever buy anything from dealerships unless you have no other alternatives.

You don't think the tips on the greddy sp are too big aren't they like 110 x 120 mm whiel the piping is only 65mm. How much HP does that give you?

One more question. If you get the turbo kit that trust has for the rx-8...will the 65mm piping be enought for it? or would you need to get a different exhaust fo rthe added power of a turbo?

We all have true JDM exhaust systems on our cars already.

Of course, that's using the term "JDM" in it's proper, original usage, which means original equipment supplied by the vehicle manufacturer on the Japanese market version of the automobile. Since our North American RX-8s have the same identical exhaust system as the Japan market RX-8s, the exhaust is definitively JDM.

Now if you want to use the lame, corrupted usage of the term "JDM" to mean anything produced by a Japanese aftermarket company, then... whatever. It's NOT JDM, it's Japanese aftermarket. Just because it's made in Japan doesn't make it automatically JDM.

Regards,
Gordon
