For you guys with the HKS suction kit, the wires coming off of the MAFS connector going to the silonoid valve connector. Once you take off the stock box,what do you do with that connector going to the silonoid valve? Do you take off the silonoid valve off the stock air box and re-connect the connector and put it aside?
Or do you not worry about the connector because the silonoid valve won't be needed anymore?

The HKS instructions dosen't go into detail about this part, thanks.

 

u dont worry about it just plug the line with a cap by the intake tube at that thing is for a to tell the air temp does nothing with the afr so u be fine

 

Cap the vacuum connection, under the throttle body, remove all the black tubing.

Leave the electrical solenoid connected, disconnecting may be a check engine light cause.

Not exactly... that solenoid operates the VFAD door that opens at high RPM (7250?) to allow more air in... nothing to do with the air temp. If you plug the vacuum line, it forces the VFAD door open (which is its default position until vacuum is applied)... which is what you probably want with an aftermarket intake anyway.

 

ok what solenoid are we talking about, can i get a picture, or is it that thing that is snapped onto the stock airbox i left all the stuff hooked up when i put on my simota intake its just laying under the intake

 

It's the solenoid attached to the left rear of the airbox with two screws... if you left that and the black snap-in chamber thing from the right side laying underneath your new intake that should be fine too... the VFAD will continue to operate as it did with the original airbox. The consensus on the VFAD is it can be left open at all times with the only downside being more intake noise at all RPM's, rather than just during high RPM operation.

Mine has been disconnected and removed from the car for two weeks now (because of RB ram air duct installation)... no CELs or problems otherwise.

Yah no issue, I ziptied the plug off to the side after the AEM installation.
