I thought CRH already spoke to you about that possibility.
You can give me a call to discuss it if you like.

a vaguely related question:

what is roar doing for engine management?

[are there any ST rx-8's running an AP flash (or any re-flash) setup? It looks like a pretty good to me...]
The tune (when running the stock ecu) is open right?

one team i talked to switched back to the stock ecu from a full replacement, but was just running the mazda flash, i was sort've surprised by that - but didn't think it was appropriate to push the point as i'm no expert to all the details involved.

I did mention the Racing Beat flash as the AP is still pretty 'new', and was surprised when they told me no (just stock).

Am I out of touch to say that the mazda tune for the street doesn't have peak power (or even engine reliability) in mind [since they have to balance things like cat life and emissions]

Charles / Jeff - We are eagerly awaiting the upgrade!

secret8gent: We are currently running a Racing Beat reflashed ECU. We are working with Cobb tuning currently but there are certain aspects of our cars that they are trying to figure out before we can start using their package.

Grand-Am has mandated the use of Bosch ECU's - which when we priced it out was going to cost somewhere around $20 grand per car to use. Other teams have come up with the same number. Frankly we thought that was too steep for ST racing.

Christian assured me that they are working on it so I can come back down again!
BTW - Let Rob know I have another 2004 PCM available if he is interested.

Jeff - Great. And of course, the sooner the better!

We don't have the clutch/flywheel package in yet but right now we are planning on putting it in one night while at Mid-Ohio, so we can give some feedback and let you talk to the drivers in person if you are there. Having a back-to-back comparison with pro drivers I think would be invaluable for you.

Plus - we get to open your eyes to Road Racing!

Also - did you send us any decals with the package? It's been so crazy around here the last month and a half or so that if you did they've probably been lost.

Adam -

I'll call Rob in the morning. The idea he was talking about on my voicemail is exactly what I did with one of the other team's cars.
It works perfectly.
