Well he didn't have to necessarily port the whole motor he could have just ported the throttle body particularly just the 3rd intake runner which would explain the jump right at 6750 where that runner opens.

I see your point now - I re looked at my dyno and I made the same 150hp @6000 rpm that Ito made with your rpm scale... not sure what I was looking at last night.

I thought of the same thing last night with the 3rd port being ported which opens somewhere around the 6250-7000 range... but it didn't correlate very well with my rpm scale. So yea, I'm a bigger believer in the porting possibility now.

if bridge porting accomplished this kind of result with just the last set of ports, why not do it to all the other ports to get a larger area under the curve? Dimensional restrictions perhaps?

Porting just the TB or intake runner would be alot easier to do than the whole engine right? Would you still have to pull the engine outta the car?

There is no point in porting the throttle body, or the intake runner. However, for high-powered forced induction applications, especially for the street, it would be wise to use long intake runners for a good powerband. I talked about such things in a thread regarding the intake manifold.

https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...ntake+manifold

I think the RX-8 is one of those cars so fixated on the sweet spot, porting the externals will yield little, none, or negative power.

If you bridgeport the center plate. that would be your idle plate and the 3&4 port including your 5&6 port your going to get a crazy brap, brap, brap, Idle.. bridgeporting is basically adding a huge cam shaft to your rotary engine. I am not to fond of a bridgeport for a street car. Many people have done it. I have done 6 port bridgeports for many customers but I don't like it for my personal use. The idea is a wonderful streetport on the regular 4 ports and bridgeporting the 5&6 ports keeping the sleeves inside the engine to keep the bridgeported 5&6 ports closed to maintain a smooth idle. When the 5&6 ports open a serious amount of intake opening in degrees happens and power gains are very noticeable..

I don't want people to disect this information an think this is what I have done to my car. People just give me some time and I will disclose what mod I have done and who ever would be interested I would be of assistance..

If you look underneath my car's hood it looks like a bone stock Rx8 and that is how Mazda wants it.. so I been warned..

I've heard a bridgeport, and it's pretty sick. Ito hit it right on the head with the "brap brap brap" description. It sounds like a cammer leaf blower.
BP's are great for track use, but the noise level is crazy. Not quite as bad as the shriek of a peripheral port, but close.

I'm sure that Ito will be at the forefront of porting the Renesis, and I'm eager to see the results. When he actually does it, that is....

A street ported 13b on the spray would explain the "dyno" sheet Ito posted. Certainly looks similar to his daughter's dyno plot for her FC.

That is way more "mod" than most people here are willing to commit on a brand new car.
Obviously not "bone stock" by a long shot.

Hey at least it looks bone stock.

I would be interested in a bridge port, as long as I can control low-speed idle. I don't think that is out of the realm of impossibility. Hell, some people have p-ported daily drivers.

I think whatever Judge Ito has in store for us is worth the wait.

Your welcomed to come to my shop and look under, inside dismantle the car seats( I heard that is where they put Nos in the movie fast and furious.. never saw it) and you will not find NOS on my 8. I repeat my car looks like a bone stock Rx8 underneath the hood.

Ugh! That is not the point!
Who cares if it is in the open or hidden! It is still a major modification - yet a minor mod compared to porting the motor which is even more easily hidden (invisible, in fact).

OK this has really gotten me wondering because I believe you. The car is bone stock. I can look under the hood, under the body, inside the seats, in the trunk, and anywhere else I desire? And the HP is substantially raised? And from my searching I couldn't find an aftermarket company called bone stock, so it's not a play on words. Unless you're testing some "to be stock" Mazdaspeed stuff. So I rack my brain and come up with:

1. Some type of fuel additive that only effects the higher rpms? Don't think so.
2. An experimental new flash from Mazda? Could be.
3. I give up???

O Dear God its semantics stop analyzing it and just digest it.

If you don't understand that work basically he's lying for the greater good!

Anymore posts about it are getting deleted final. Make this thread worth something.

Comon Jeff be reasonable. Respect the mans reasons for not wanting to get his warranty voided.

How he did it will all be reviled in due time.

You be reasonable.

The thread starts out by saying that the Renesis will produce 230 wheel HP with no mods.
Then it goes on to imply that there are mods.
Well, no sh*t! Of course it will produce 230 wheel HP with mods.

I have plenty of respect for his desire for not having his warranty voided. Well, not respect, but understanding.
If he is really that worried about it he shouldn't post at all.
However, starting out by saying he accomplished something for nothing and then going back and saying it really was not "free power" - but the method is a secret - is pointless.

I'm sure it is a great mod that he has performed. I'm certain it will produce gobs of power - nearly all of Ito's work does.

But until that point in the discussion is achieved, this thread serves no purpose but to make Judge Ito look like an ***.

SO VERY VERY TRUE. You can't get any more real then that folks, either agree with it, or don't try and challenge it.

No disrespect meant, but with the punishment you are putting your car through, do you honestly believe you should be entitled to work under warranty? I know money doesn't grow on trees, but speaking for myself if I was pushing the envelope of performance, I wouldn't expect someone else to pay for it.

I respect those who pioneer the way, but I think it is foolish to think that it should be covered under warranty. If indeed that is the reason why this whole charade is being played out.

My two cents...he keeps emphasizing bone stock. Bone as in bare. People keep saying stop playing semantics, but Ito set the board, so we're just playing his game. But if you can't tell any changes, I don't know how far his car could be stripped.

Ito you still have your AC, etc?
