how much horsepower does the greddy turbo kit put out

i have been looking but cant find a definate number. i was reading one of the threads and it said if you change the stock exhaust it would throw the computer off. did not understand that i thought it would breath more freely. new to rotary engines so not to sure about things any help is welcome. would 325 wheel horsepower be possibel on a daily driver or not.

It will not deliver the 375whp that you say you're looking for in the other thread. Maybe a better way is to identify a 1/4 time you'd like to run in the 8. And when costing you should probably not forget about the ancillary parts needed such as wider tires/wheels, stiffer suspension, upgraded clutch/flywheel, etc...

i see what you are saying. i have taken those things into account. i would like in the 12's. i mean i have a 350z right now and it supposedly runs high 13s so i have sceptism about investing so much money in boosting a rx8 and having about the same horsepower as a slightly modded 350z. you know what i mean. i like the rx8 cause it comes with more options at a more affordable price. so i guess if it was running mid to low 12s i would be happy.

The Greddy turbo kit alone will get you 230-240whp @6psi. With exhaust, better engine management, and boost controller you can get 290whp. Anything more requires a bigger turbo. You will have a difficult time running a 12sec 1/4mile time w/ the Greddy turbo. The SFR or PTP might get you a high 12 with the boost turned up.

Changing the stock exhaust, particularly the stock cat will require you to have the emanage retuned ~$400. That is the only difficulty with changing it.

Properly tuned, you should be fine out of the box. At the very least, you should get a bov and boost gauge.

I would also recommend an AFR gauge, and a different engine management.

If you really want to beaf up the reliability ceramic coat the manifold, turbo and downpipe, get Racing Beats oil pump mod, an additional oil cooler, new radiator, and Greddy oil pan. But none of that is really necessary.

It really depends on what you are looking for & how much you want to spend. The Greddy Turbo kit can be bought for $2800, far less than anything on a 350Z. The major seelling point of this kit is that it is inexpensive. If you are looking to get to 325 whp+ and are willing to spend approximately what it would cost for a 350Z Turbo kit ($6,000-$7,000) then there are better alternatives. When you get the Greddy Turbo kit, an upgraded fuel management unit, and upgraded turbo at that point you might as well wait for the upcoming PTP Motorsports (GT35r turbo )or Speed Force Racing kits (T4) and 400 whp might be acheivable. This is coming from a guy with a Greddy turbo kit, and an upgraded FMU. It is a good step turbo (i.e. if you want to build a turbo kit up from step to step) since you are used to 350Z FI prices ($6000+).
