Agency power underdrive pulley
premix at 200:1 or more

That will make a noticable difference - just don't take on any STIs or EVOs
actually i beg to differ, there were 2 stock rx8's at the track this weekend for the races, and they were getting between 63 and 67 seconds, the evos and sti's which were running high boost, were running 65-70 second runs. So we are doing damn good for stock, and if you got all that stuff, you could make it into the 59-63 range, and practice makes perfect, your car is quicker stock than you expect, just put it on the right road

edit: and taking out both the mesh screens could effect idle, but racing beat did say that they saw about 1 hp increase for every screen you take out, seein as you put this up, how is your idle with both the screens out?

When did RB said that ?

and I think its just that most *STI/EVO* people on your track does not know how to drive ...

"Unfortunately, each screen costs about 1 HP at high RPM, so using fewer screens is an advantage."

here is the link

http://racingbeat.com/FRmazda4.htm

it is the first sentence under the picture of the air horn/filter

edit: i talked to the guys with the evos and sti's and that wasnt their first time there, a lot of them have been going there for years.

im pretty sure nitrous isnt a maintainence heavy item. but i dont really know anything on the topic. also, for ever 1lb you reduce off unsprung weight (like the rims) it is equal to 4lbs off the rest of the car.

so lets say our rims weigh 22 lbs each. and you go to some rims that weigh 17lbs each. thats 5x4(for unsprung weight) x4 (for each tire). = 100lbs off the car. you will feel the difference.
& a set of light weight tires(21lbs) =

Anyone know where I can get any info on tire weights(Not the stick on type ) besides Edge Racing?

i'd like to see a set of rims that weigh 21lbs. each rim would have to be 5.25lbs.

or save a thousand bucks over the int-x and get an e-manage (or spend < $200 for a used unit) and get the same results.... or just get a flash for not a whole lot of more money then an e-manage

sorry taj, adhd, and yes rotor, i would just go with the rb reflash, i have done a lot of reading over the past week about the int-x, and it seems overpriced, to complicated for me right now, and i have seen the same results from guys who just have the reflash and various bolt-ons. I know people like the int-x, but it just isnt for me, unless i go FI, then it will totally be worth the 1500.

I thought it would affect my idle so I ran with just one for ages without issue . Then one day I found it was broken & took it out (on Team's suggestion) . Never looked back since - absolutely no issues whatsoever .Someone else on here did the same and did have an issue so I would just say - try it .
As for the Evo STI thing you are wrong & right depending on how you look at it .
In a straight line they will still pull on you but on a really tight track you can keep up and even pass if you are a good enough driver.

1. Nitrous
2. Flywheel
3. Suspention

Pick one. Listen in order of decreasing gains. Nitrous is sweet and very easy to do. +50HP wet shot works on a stock car. Look at the sticky by "Charles R. Hill"

Personally I got the flywheel cos I was getting the clutch done anyway, but I love it! Definitely the best kick in the butt you will get from this car short of FI. Nitrous kits are $800-ish... You can install it yourself and use the money left over for refills... Turbo starts around $3k if you're very lucky and competent, and on up to 10k or more.

Suspention mods will net you little in a straight line, but she will be lots of fun around the corners and the track. That's what the car was built for anyway.

If you want to make a GOOD investment (one that you will be happy with months and years down the line) read the threads floating around the forum. The worst thing you can do is take someone's personal opinion, blow your cash, then realize later that you would have been happier with something else.

stock wheels are decent already. Spending 1000 or more to lose weight is ok but not high on the noticable performance gain for the buck.

That's where I disagree with you. A LOT is a big word. I went from 26 lbs rims to 17 lbs rims, and while the change was nice, it doesn't rank high in performance gains for the daily driver. I could feel the change, but it wasn't significant. So a person with a stock RX-8 who has 22 or 24 lbs rims going to a 18 or 19 lbs rims is not getting a lot of gain for the dollar.

your right, but it does make a difference, but not a big one, and if you get a good set, they are always easy on the eyes, btw, i like your videos on youtube

With only $1200 and a goal of a straight line increase in power, nitrous is really the only option. You will get no bigger power gain for that kind of money.

i believe they are infront and behind of the MAP sensor, if you take off the hose from air filter box, and look down it, you should see two screens, if you take those out, more air can get into the engne, just watch your idle, and make sure you have a good filter like a k&n so it can actually get more air

In your airbox behind the velocity(spelling)stack. Leave at least 1 in there.
