For us who would like this--how could it be done? The buzzer is part of a circuit board isn't it? And by the way--just how accuarate is our tach?

Should be able to wire up a LED.....wouldn't use too much current. Drawback is if you FU...you need a new dash unit......

Mine is about 400RPM high ( oops) at redline

I have done it - but using a piggyback so not much use to you i guess . I first used a shift light but found it did not do the job . So I got hold of a really load beeper & put that in as well - works great!
I Set it at 8600 rpm

BTW : my stock buzzer does work - I just can't hear it ....

good info--thanks.

My problem also is I cant hear the buzzer well. Brettus how did you install the louder one? Please share that!

400-500 high? Iwonder if that is a progressive type of error? Closer to true at lower rpm?

Just for the hell of it I guess you could put an audio device that would give you a selection of buzzer's or cow sounds, dogs barking, or the Rocky theme?

You know... I have never heard my buzzer before. I mean I do take it up to redline occassionaly, but I've never heard it. Is it really noticeably, or just a low buzz?

Cool Two wires.....

The beeper gets power all the time, and the meter grounds it to beep, so you need to extend BOTH contacts out to your new louder beepmaker (I would suggest a Mallory Sonalert type)

Mine runs off my piggyback so no use to you .
Would say it was a progressive error as at idle the guage reads spot on.

The same with me. My buzzer is plenty loud.

Some of these old timers must have been hard core rockers when they were younger.

I got my car new off the lot and the buzz has always been pretty silent. After I put the MS cat-back on I couldn't here it anymore.

yes, the OE exhaust is whisper quiet, the Renesis is quite loud with an open exhaust

You should be able to wire the OE buzzer contacts into a powered relay to actuate whatever alternate 12V device you wanted to
