well if you just tend to get **** thrown your way, i wouldnt say that you are earning then. if leon is going to college thats great, i hope he does well. he seems like a cool guy. but even though i am on here a lot, i still put in my 45+ hours a week. and keeping an assembly line going is way harder than you may think. but w.e. some people get it easy, others have to work for it

Ha.. I didn't mean it in a good way.. what I meant is, all I get is crap, if one bad thing isn't happening to me, another is.

I work 50-60 hours a week, with a 6 day work week, and only Sundays off.

k so don't hate on me because I'm reviving a thread that is a year and two days old... But I'm on the market for a sports cat at the moment. Right now..Everyone is all throwing at me "RP Supercat! whoo hoo!".

NOW before anyone says ANYTHING. I'm not BASHING them because I know NOTHING...thus why I 'm asking.

I've HEARD That the RP supercat burns out if you use the Cobb AP from a few people, even the latest fancy schemancy version. So I was looking into alternatives...REGARDLESS of price..So I can compare quality..and what this company has in terms of Cat performance compared to others.

The HKS to me looks great and from knowing Deedub, he gets HKS because they make quality **** (Yes, at a price..but it's quality. Gotta pay to play). But also knowing Deedub..he probably has a Cobb AP, right? And if that's the case, I haven't noticed a thread on here that says the HKS cat has burnt out while he's using his Cobb...

That being said, which brings us to the question! What sports cat is good out there (regardless of price) that can handle high temps and the Cobb AP. I saw someone mention a SMB cat? I also saw someone mention something about the Cat that Team RX8 is using.. Why don't we stop grieping about pricing and start bringing up names? Because so far.. Unless I'm using the search TOTALLY wrong..the only Cat I see advertised as good is Super Cat...but if it's burning out because of Cobb..How is that good?

The Cobb AP does nothing in regard to killing CATs.. The reason a cat would burn out quicker was if the A/F ratio was leaned out enough that the exhaust gases are hot enough. Mazda purposely made the RX8 run rich to save the CAT for the 80k required by federal laws. Richer mix = cooler exhaust gas.

deedubb never had a cobb ap.

I ran the cobb ap for about 8-9k miles with my 20k supercat and when I pulled it out it still looked fine.

I guess I was just worried about the AP raising the EGT to melt the cat. Like I said, I heard that Cobb is melting SP cats on an aggressive tune, not conservative.

Cobb has nothing to do with the cat, if you buy some brand name expensive baller crap like RE, Rmagic, HKS they will last longer than the rest. From what I've read with the other cat's, it could go either way.

Correct, cobb doesnt DIRECTLY affect the cat, but cobb can make the car run leaner, which will raise EGT, which can melt the cat...

What i believe Zelse was wondering was if he gets the Cobb AP, and dyno tunes it to extract the most power out of his car as possible, is he risking melting the cat? or should he just go catless?

I think SR has one which sucks, fuildmotorsports just came out with a midpipe, with a cat option maybe that's a way to go.

Go catless! The AP will mask it.

Think of the polar bears though.
