taj is just butt hurt that his car dynoed low and blamed hks for it.. I dynoed 190 whp+ along with 20 others that dynoed in the 170-180 range on the same day. There are other factors to it but talking to you about dyno's is like kicking a dead cow with gold paint and chrome rims..not to mention his car can't do over 150mph on the dyno.hahaha
in a nut shell, you guys are so hard headed..start reading the previous posts before you give your 4 cents cause what you guys are saying has been covered on this thread already. If one chooses to go with this pipe it's up to end user. Stop acting like a bunch of emo's and dont take it upon yourself to be captain save a hoe. If Leon wants to go with this pipe then let him, he's old enough to make that decision on his own. Leon actually has my old exhaust, I sold it to him almost a year ago..

no deedub, the reason why I am hurt is because while using the HKS, I dynoed 190.......when I changed to a spectre shitty *** filter, I dynoed 193.......everything else same, on the same dyno.......which is why I said in my experience, it sucked
others might have better experience with it, i don't know, from my own it sucked.

My continued interest in this thread is purely from the perspective of claims made that the RP supercat is "crappy" and that is why HKS is better. No data regarding the temp resistance or flow rating of the HKS unit - just arbitrary claims that it is superior.
If someone wants to get the HKS unit - go right ahead. But they shouldn't do so because HKS is numero uno and on unsubstantiated claims the competitor is "crap".

hahah stop making things up, hks never said it was crap nor do they even advertise this product in the U.S.. From personal experience and from what I've seen the the rp supercat has these issues. Not all of them do, but there have been many reports of issues with the supercat. Get your facts straight.

I had an RP Supercat before and have seen the HKS Metal Catalyzer. The difference in fit and finish is like night and day! As seen in XDEEDUBBX’s pictures, the quality is obvious and the materials used (polished SUS304, CNC flanges etc.) are top notch. As for fitment, the HKS fits like factory, doesn’t require welding an additional hanger, includes a resonator, all necessary hardware and doesn’t push the exhaust out an extra10-15mm like the RP. I personally saw a back to back dyno test on an EVO (HKS Metal Catalyzer vs Cat-delete straight pipe) and there was no difference in power. The cost is high, however if compared to other top JDM manufactures it’s right on par. RE Amemija, & R Magic are priced similar. Whether or not the differences are worth the added cost should be up to the end user.

Where did I say the RP was crap?? I actually had 2 of them at different times in the past, so I definitely don't think it's crap! The only reason why I took it off was because it was a little loud for my taste. My only knock on the RP is that it pushed my exhaust about 10-15mm further towards the back. Please don't put words in my mouth... I was just giving my opinion on comparing the fit & finish.

thats great to hear. so what if these guys dont like the price. its not like they are buying it. its your money deedubb. use it how you want. i just dropped 500 on a race pipe (not telling from where yet) and i guarantee it will the top notch quality just like HKS. good luck. i look forward to seeing another one of your vids on youtube.

I dont have all the details right now for it. I will get it shortly... what I do know is that the piping is 65 mm. Most mid pipes for the rx8 are 70-75mm. This pipe was designed for N/A applications but could still be used for turbocharged renny's. This is only a Japan part (not advertised or sold directly from hksusa) but can be specially ordered. The metal catalyzer is top notch, not like the cheap crap used in the rp supercat that tends to burn out after a while.
