FWIW, I like the HKS and the single outlet. More purposeful. Sure the car was made with duals but that was just for looks. Function over form for me

I belief Trust (aka GReddy) now makes a dual muffler setup with 70mm piping.

flow isn't a huge factor for the RX8 because the exhaust ports in the engine are what is restricting it, not the exhaust. Deleting a cat will free up some horsepower, but just replacing the exhaust system won't yield much hp, which eveyone on here knows.
The main benifit of a single system is the weight savings. Obviously one muffler, no Y-pipe, and less piping overall will weight less.
And labdad- HKS does make a dual exhaust system for the RX8 called the Legamax and it retails for $990.

XDeeDubbX ,
Those are some nice shots of your car, and the single tip with your modded block-off look pretty good. Have you taken any other shots showing the entire back end of the car with the single exhaust and block-off screen? I would like to see how that perspective looks too.
As far as the Legamax goes the pricing has just recently dropped per a discussion I had with a vendor, and I have seen the prices in the $830 range, which makes it a lot more affordable even with shipping than previously. Of all of the sound clips I have heard, I really like the sound that the HKS makes.

All this doesn't matter much if you're NA. As you've pointed out, they already flow more than needed. However if you've got a turbo or are planning to turbocharge. I'd recommend the HKS Hi Power.
