veilside, you really do need their explanation in writing. They have already looked at your car for your complaint and updated the warranty record for your VIN. If you go to another dealership they might not even look at your car once they see what the other dealer has noted. Then you can show the dealer what total s***heads the other dealer is and they will take a serious look.

Probably wouldn't hurt to go to the dealer with another 8 owner who is more knowledgeable who can help you argue the case. You really do need someone that can call them on the BS as they heap more lies at you.

Dealer service people can be like a bunch of hyenas. Once they know that you can't contradict them they just keep putting you on the defensive.
