help please!!! just installed AEM CAI
ok had no problems installing the intake. i looked at the directions somewhat but it was pretty straight forward.
my question is. i plugged up the three hoses before the MAF does it matter which hose goes on which plug? i just put them on whichever fit the best.
second question. (i know i should have pics but ill take em in the morning) i plugged the MAF in and there is a connector just hanging there and also there was like 3 other hoses/connectors that didnt have anywhere to be put what do i do with these? right now there are just laying in there
i took there car for a drive it sounded good i like it no check engine lights but after the car was fully warmed up and everything i would drive to about 6k 6.5k and it would lag a little and when i shifted it acted like it had a hard time catching back up...you know what i mean idk how to explain it though.
is this normal? kinda worried me
what do i do w/ the excess hoses and loose stuff hanging around? because there is one part that is really small opening its a hose but really small i placed my finger over it w/ engine running and it was sucking in air.
i just dont know what the next step to do.
help me out guys...hope this was explained good enough and also i apologize for not having pics to refer to.

u should have ONE connecter just chillin
and you should have ONE hose just chillin....its the thin hose that goes to thee throttle body i believe...you just gotta plug the end of it.
as far as the order of the 3 hoses i dont really think it matters....but i plugged them the same exact as stock.

probably just need to let the computer re-adjust.
i plugged my hoses back up the same as stock too. i don't see how it would matter though.
the other connector goes to the secondary vacuum on your stock intake which you removed. it now goes no where. tape it back.
i just had a thread going through the same thing.
it's fun to install stuff. enjoy it!

^ +1 i actually had a blast doing it. ok so best thing to do is just tape it back or get it out of the way some how. what about that little vacuum hose. did you put a cap on it or anything?

no, he was talking about the green connecor we've been saying to ape back. it's in the wire bundle with the maf.
you said there was still vacuum tubing in your bay. that should be disconnected at the throttle body and removed.
and the inlet on the throttle body that you pull the hose from should be CAPPed. there should have been a very small cap in your kit. it goes there.

you can do this.
the the throttle body is the metal thing your cai is connected to.
on the bottom side of it, there's a nipple, an inlet. it probably has one end of your vacuum hose connected to it.
remove the hose and cap it. it's going to be hard. but keep at it.
all of the hose can be removed. the screws that hold it down, the mounts, the connectors, everything, all the way to the front of your car.
that's it.
